Web Harmonium
Free online Indian harmonium, shruti box & tuner
After months of tinkering, I launched Web Harmonium — a free, no-signup Indian harmonium that runs entirely in the browser: harmoniumweb.org
I got tired of needing an app or a physical instrument just to practise, so I built one with the Web Audio API — no backend, no account, works offline as a PWA.
What's in it:
- A reed-organ keyboard with Sargam (Sa Re Ga Ma) labels and raga highlighting
- A web tanpura / shruti box drone
- A mic-based Sargam tuner (sing a note, see the swara + cents)
- 30+ song-note pages (bhajans, Bollywood, ghazals, nursery rhymes)
- Play with laptop keys, touch, or a MIDI keyboard
It's a solo side project, free for everyone, and intentionally dependency-free (just static HTML/CSS/JS). I'd genuinely love feedback from this community — on the build, the UX, or how to reach the people who'd actually use it. Happy to share what I learned shipping a no-framework Web Audio app too.
