Web Video Looper
A-B loop for YouTube & local files — no upload, no account
Hey IH 👋
I'm the maker of Web Video Looper (web-video-looper.com), a free browser tool that loops any section of a video between two points (A–B) so you can practice by repetition.
Why I built it: Every looper I found only handled YouTube links. I wanted to loop my own local video/audio files too — without uploading them anywhere. So I built one where local files are processed entirely in the browser and never leave your device.
Who uses it:
- 🎸 Musicians looping a 2-bar riff at 0.25x to build muscle memory
- 🗣️ Language learners looping a line for shadowing
- 💃 Dancers using a horizontal mirror-flip to learn choreography facing the screen
Tech: No backend, no database, no sign-up. All state lives in localStorage + URL params (every loop has a shareable link). Next.js on Cloudflare Workers via OpenNext. Free, and I plan to keep it that way.
Where I'm stuck: The bottleneck is awareness: backlinks and mentions. I've started submitting to directories, but I'd love to hear how other solo makers here got their first traction on a free, no-signup utility with basically no marketing budget.
What worked for you — communities, content, outreach? 🙏
About
I built Web Video Looper because existing loopers only handle YouTube — I wanted to loop **local video and audio files too**, without uploading them anywhere. Set A and B, slow it down to 0.25x, mirror-flip for dance, sa
