February 9, 2020 Updated website

Stripe was made available in my country and I wanted to implement it.

In order to do that, I had to switch from a simple wordpress instance to one that uses woocommerce.

This was a good moment to also fix some bugs and improve the usability for all single products pages.

I'm very happy with the results and the stripe implementation worked as expected -> perfect.

January 15, 2020 +1 to family members :)

It's been a very challenging couple of months. I knew the birth date for our latest family addition :) would be between 10-16 of January. I set up my roadmap so that I would finish an important milestone for my business by 15th of January.

Somehow I managed to keep in check with my work roadmap while managing a ton of other stuff: family, work, other work (uifort)

I expect smooth sailing from now on.

January 15, 2020 Finished two new products

After investing months of work in developing the custom ecosystem app (as i like to call it), i finally managed to launch two new admin dashboard templates:

Each of the two are part of our Bamburgh UI System which will eventually feature admin dashboards and ui kits for all popular frontend and backend frameworks.

One is for Angular and the other is for React. I will be launching the Ui Kits for them later this week. I still need to write the descriptions & such for them.

Demos available here:

January 15, 2020 Finished custom ecosystem app

Finished an ecosystem that allows faster product development, deployment and updates.

For my business, of selling admin dashboard templates & ui kits, to be successful I need three things:

  1. Good competitive products
  2. Website visitors - the number of visits is directly proportional to the number of sales - ALWAYS
  3. Fast product updates across multiple dev frameworks

Once I realised what was missing, I started, with some help, building an app that allows me to automate certain tasks in product development.

July 23, 2019 Improved the products pages

I had a little free time so I focused in the past two days on improving the product pages on uifort.com

Basically, I've added more information regarding each product, with more live demos links and features lists.

Also, had a few sales, but nothing impressive. Very hard to promote, will focus more on SEO improvements in the future.

July 15, 2019 Presentation website framework

I initially built the presentation website uifort.com on a static framework, but i realized that for SEO purposes and easy updates, that isn't the best solution.

I switched to WordPress and optimized it as much as possible to have the same 90 google speed index score.

Of course, WP is nice for quick changes (having a CMS in general is), but I'm also curious about what you mean with the SEO part. What is WordPress doing better than a well set up static site in terms of SEO?

If you want to do more intricate linking, categories menu and similar, i guess that wordpress is the simplest solution. for me at least.

Also, it was hard to add those facebook, twitter profile cards, meta descriptions and keywords, page seo analysis (what wordpress plugins like yoast offer by default).

Right now, the homepage has a desktop speed index of ~92 and some product pages go as high as ~98. Somehow, the static versions didn't go that high.

i'm very happy with the result and now I can easily create new pages, menus, sub categories menus.

I'm using ACF and custom post type generator to easily add custom options for my products presentation landing pages. Very, very easy - everything works out of the box.

That is great! Thanks for the answer!

What do you mean by static framework?

Were you building with something like Gatsby, Hugo, Jekyll, etc? It is my understanding that static site generators like those produce flat HTML documents that are great for SEO.

I initially wanted to use Hugo, did some reading and decided to use Handlebars with static HTML & Gulp for the assets part. I didn't use Hugo because that would have added extra time to the development process. I didn't want not even 1 minute of extra effort.

At some point i realized that my setup would be a pain once i added more products and made an effort and switched to wordpress. it took less than two days for everything to be migrated to wp.

July 5, 2019 Added Vue.js templates

I've created and added for sale two UI kits for Vue.js, for our first UI System. The UI kit comes in two versions a lite free one and a premium one that contains all the features.

Added one admin dashboard product for Vue.js, but I still have to create the free version for that.

June 1, 2019 Launched the presentation website

After working on this for a few months I finally managed to launch the presentation website, fully working with payment processing integrated, a few UI Kits and admin dashboards already up for sale. Next steps would be to create more products and start promoting somehow.
