The second Hactoberfest went extremely well for the project.
We got around 20 new code contributors, new users, and a lot of new friends during this month.
The most exiting part is that new version was released: https://github.com/wemake-services/wemake-python-styleguide/releases/tag/0.13.0
It is now very useful. Not just "good-enough".
Since this moment I can truly say that wemake-python-styleguide is the strictest Python linter out there.

We started an OpenCollective account and got our first paying backer.
100$ a month is a good start for an open-source project!

Since that moment we were also lucky enough to get additional one-time donations.

You cannot be ever fully satisfied with the product you build.
But, there's sometimes this point in time when you realise: this product now is good enough to be used.
That's the moment when you start to enjoy it.
We had this moment with the 0.11.0 release: https://github.com/wemake-services/wemake-python-styleguide/releases/tag/0.11.0

Hactoberfest 2018 was a big milestone for the project.
Firstly, it was the date when we got a first big wave of contributors.
Second, it was the moment when we got first users outside of the company.
And most importantly, it was the moment when we released our first truly usable version of the product: 0.3.0
https://github.com/wemake-services/wemake-python-styleguide/releases/tag/0.3.0
It got some adoption. Lovely time!

– Newcomers guidance
Spoiler: it went pretty well!
