So many more people need to help as the unemployment rate is massively increasing on a global scale. We will look into spending money on some ads to accelerate the outreach.

We also have a few ideas and features that we want to add as a resource to further help people not only get jobs but grow in this current pandemic.

April 10, 2020 We reached 100 listed jobs!

Finding jobs in this current climate is very hard. Fortunately, many gig-type companies are ramping up their hiring as demand for online support has drastically increased.

Through hard work, we managed to research, find and add 100 active listed jobs on the website.

We will never stop and will continue to add more jobs that we can find on the site as our mission is to help people find some form of income for either short-term or long-term.

March 17, 2020 Launched the website!

After I made a healthy list of 40 jobs, I purchased the domain name, set up a wordpress site and off to the races with designing the site.

I was manually adding the website using a WYSIWYG Elementor web builder.

After I finished, I shared the site on both groups at 5 pm that day.

With only 7 hours of going live, the site already hit 605 people.

March 16, 2020 Came up with wfhpad.com

While watching Mark Cuban's interview regarding the NBA shutting down because of the Corona Virus, something stood out on the interview when he was asked: "What concerns do you have about the team?"

He answered: "It's not about team its just about the country and life in general... I'm concerned about the people who work here on an hourly basis?".

Here's the video: https://youtu.be/HxaPga-WD1U?t=80

Being an immigrant surrounded by immigrants here in Canada, this hit home hard. From there, I started to think of how I can contribute and help.

I was already seeing a lot of people getting their hours cut and some already being laid off.

So I had the idea of creating an online job board that curates non-specialized jobs so that these hourly wage people can somewhat find work online.

I went on to 2 Facebook groups, posted about the idea to ask for jobs I can post on the site if I were to make it.

The next day, instead of jobs - it had an overwhelming response (over 400 reactions and 200 plus comments on one group and over 1200 reactions and 450 plus comments on the other) requesting for the site or following the post for updates.

So I validated the need for the site overnight so I spent a day researching and creating a list of jobs to put on the site.

About

WFH Pad is a project I started after witnessing my friends, community, and people around the world lose their jobs because of the Covid-19 pandemic. It's purposely built for hourly wage workers to find online work.
