December 11, 2021 WhatsAppShop takes its first payment!

Today is a very special day indeed! WhatsAppShop took its very first payment! A customer has been on the trial version of WhatsAppShop for 7 days and they made their first full payment today as a paid customer. I am really happy and very thankful to have my first paying customer on WhatsAppShop!

I don't have access to the website or an example of how it works
    Your idea is interesting
Have you thought about turning it into a tool and selling it?
Of course, anyone who wants an update should pay for it
Or turning it into a browser extension for use on the computer
But selling it as a SAAS would be an interesting idea
It's a shame there's no example website to share
    It would sell a lot

November 22, 2021 WhatsAppShop Launched

Coincidentally, the 22nd November is my brothers birthday! The one who inspired this whole idea! Today we launched, I am nervous and scared but I put my heart and soul into every line of code, I spent months of late nights and early mornings between my full time job as developer dedicating to completing this wonderful system and I did it, I completed the software and I feel a massive sense of achievement!

WhatsApp Shop launching is quite a significant development, potentially expanding the platform's capabilities beyond just messaging. With WhatsApp Shop, users might have the opportunity to explore and purchase products directly within the app, offering a more seamless shopping experience. It'll be interesting to see how businesses and consumers engage with this new feature and how it impacts e-commerce on the platform.

Cool idea—it would be great on the website to have a sample store to check.

Do you have any active stores I can try? I want to open one for my burger bun business but I'm a bit hesitant in opening an account and everything without actually understanding how it works for my customers.

Hi there and thank you! I do not have a demo store available im afraid, You can register for a free trial, you get 7 days and if it is not for you, you can just cancel your subscription and you won't be charged anything.

      I hope that is ok?

I will look to create a demo store when I can so thank you for that kind feedback.

      Just for your information:

Customers will visit your own shop from with all your products and categories.
They can add products to the basket.
Once they are done they can click to go to checkout.

If you have require only cash payment options (cash on delivery, cash on collection & bank transfer) Then the customer will enter their information and send order.

Customer will then get taken to WhatsApp automatically with order details.

You receive all order information, customer details and prices etc in WhatsApp.

Orders and customers also get saved into your WhatsAppShop dashboard also.

If you have credit/debit card payments active - all same steps above, except, customer must enter credit/debit card number, payment it take, then customer is transferred automatically to whatsapp.

in checkout you can have unto 4 different payment options available for customer to choose from.

      Cash on delivery
      Cash on collection
      Bank transfer
      Credit/Debit card

If customer chooses cash on delivery - system requests customers delivery address. (you can also add a delivery cost in your settings if needed)

If customer chooses Cash on collection - system provides customer with your business address to collect their order

If customer choses bank transfer - system provides bank details to customer to make their payment - order sent to WhatsApp

If customer chooses credit/debit card, system takes payment, on successfully making payment, order is created and sent to your whatsapp.

I hope all this makes sense. I have really tried to make the shopping experience super simple for the customer, a quick and simple checkout experience no matter what payment option they choose.

      Many thanks
      Brian

Thanks so much Nick, I really appreciate your kind words :) I am very glad you like the concept.

Congrats on launching! WhatsAppStore looks like it has a lot of potential for success. I wish you a quick growth!

My only concern is the name. Aren't you afraid that Facebook, erm... Meta, will sue you for their trademark infringement?

    1. 1

Hey Lukasz, Thank you very much, I really hope so! and I am slightly afraid of Meta coming for me, but the name is the product, it says exactly what it is, I couldn't work out anything else that would state that it is a shop for WhatsApp lol so I decided on WhatsAppShop. I have run Ads on Facebook and also created the Facebook Page using the same name and they allowed them so fingers crossed they feel the same way about the domain :)

not to worry, Mark will buy him out for like 16 billion.
honestly this is something whatsapp should have done a long time ago, and this is why weChat is laughing all the way to the bank.. weChat has had this feature for like 10 years.

Not sure about Brian's implementation , but this idea is worth the punt.

      • If the pro plans accepts credit/debit cards, how do you pay a non pro account?
      • Who handles the stripe/merchant fees if no commision is taken, i would assume that there is a discount rate that needs to be taken off the top before money is deposited to the users bank.
      • What would be the difference of using a shopify store with a QR code link ?

The receipts are sent via whatsapp vs email - apart from this how do you handle things differently from a normal ecommerce store?

      1. 1

Now wouldn't that be nice Rishi :) lol 16 Billion! ha ha
And I agree, I was surprised that this wasn't already a thing when I decided to create it, I spent weeks researching for an alternative and nothing did quite what my software does in terms of running a shop with full WhatsApp support.

The difference between the pro and non pro account like you said is the Credit and debit cards.

My target market is everyday people who sell items perhaps from their home or over facebook, their Facebook pages are filled with endless and unordered posts of products they either make or sell.

Therefore WhatsAppShop helps provide a professional shop front for these kind of people. Now most of these people sell mostly to their local communities and often offer cash on collection, cash on delivery or bank transfer payments. The non-pro account facilitates all 3 of these and captures/provides all the relevant information to the customer. Whereas the pro account allows customers to pay for good with their credit card before the order gets saved into the system then sent to the shop owners WhatsApp number, with all the order information.

The shop owner adds their own Stripe information into their shop settings page, so all money goes directly through their own account.

Subscription payments for creating a shop go through my Stripe account. This is the only way I make money on this platform if users open a shop. Users can open multiple shops all within the same dashboard, they are all independent and can even run separate currencies in each shop.

Every time a new shop is created their subscription multiplies.

Feel free to setup a free account and see just how useful the software can be for a user. You will automatically get a 7 day FREE trial! If you dont like it you can cancel before the 7 days and you won't be charged.

If you do like, their is even a referral system where you can refer a friend, if they signup to a subscription, you both get a further 20% off your subscriptions!

I hope this has helped clear up some of your questions? :)

August 31, 2021 Work begins!

I decided to plan 'A LOT' and worked out the pros and cons of being able to sell to your local community and beyond. What was needed to make it simple, how could someone create a shop online, whilst keeping excellent communication with their customers, then I got a WhatsApp message whilst I was planning....... that was it! Sell items and utilise WhatsApp! Why? Because WhatsApp has over 2 Billion Monthly Users! let's Tap into that untouched revenue stream, the name WhatsAppShop was created.

July 17, 2021 The Idea

My brother sells Scented Wax Melts mostly through Facebook. He sells mostly through facebook because he continuously struggled with his website, he was non-tech-savvy so struggled with the endless settings and styling of his website, settling for unappealing free themes etc. He just wanted to simply sell his scented wax melts to people in our city. This gave me an idea......

About

I wanted to create a way for everyday people, to simply be able to sell items easily online. E-commerce systems can be over complicated and daunting for some people, WhatsApp shop takes out the hassle of selling online.
