We now offer a feature that allows you to find your favorite movies and TV shows on your preferred network providers, even if they are not available in your country. This makes it easier for you to access the content you want, especially if you travel or use a VPN service.
For example, if you are a fan of the show "The Office" and you have a Netflix subscription, but the show is not available on Netflix in the United States, our feature will let you know that it is available on Netflix in other countries.
Registering your favorite providers can be done in the Settings menu in the top right corner of the website.

I've just made it easier to find alternative countries showing a movie or tv show on streaming services when it's not available in your country. This can come in handy if you use a VPN.
Let's say I want to Love Actually in France for Christmas. A quick lookup tells me it's only available to buy or rent in France.

With this new improvement, it will now tell you in which country it is available for streaming and show you a logo of the available streaming services.
I can see it is available on Amazon Prime Video in many countries and I just happen to have an Amazon Prime Video subscription. By using a VPN, I could select one of these location and be able to watch my movie for Christmas!

I hope you like it!

Previously dark mode was only based on the system preference. We added a new toggle that lets choose which mode you prefer: light, dark or the user system settings.

π Dark mode for wherecaniwatchthis.tv is finally here! Nearly two months after launch, it was about time! π
Absolutely nobody asked for it but still I delivered. Thanks to Tailwind CSS, it was a breeze and it was a matter of minutes to implement.
It is based on the system preference for now so it will follow whatever setting you set on your device. I might add a toggle to trigger it manually in a near future.
I hope you like it!

Small improvements are coming to Where can I watch this?
Users can now select their favorite country for the streaming providers as well as their preferred language for data related to movies and tv shows (title and synopsis). This is all stored in the browser so they won't have to change it each time they visite the website.
Since themoviedb is 100% crowd sourced, we can not guarantee that every resource will be available in the user's preferred language.

Release dates for movies and tv shows have been greatly improved on wherecaniwatchthis.tv.
Take Enola Holmes 2 for instance. Previously we would just informed you that Enola Holmes 2 was not available in your country. Now, we will try, whenever possible, to display the release date of the movie (or tv show) in your country. Much better and very useful!
Both digital and theatrical releases are supported.
For theatrical releases, we will show both upcoming and past release dates if they happened only a few weeks ago. That way you can still check in your local theaters if the movie is still showing there.

TV shows are now supported on wherecaniwatchthis.tv
The search engine seamlessly displays results for both tv shows and movies. Additional data are provided for tv shows: number of seasons, number of episodes and status (ended, returning, etc...)
Next batch of improvements will be around release dates: theatrical releases, future releases, etc...

The first version of Where can I watch this? is available at https://www.wherecaniwatchthis.tv.
It's really simple but it does the job without distraction. Just type the name of the movie you want to watch, choose your country and you'll be able to see on which platform you can watch it.
More than 120 providers (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, AppleTV+...) and 40 countries are available.

You either have a bug in the code or according to your provider, nothing is available in the UK (checked 3 random titles)

I am missing a link on the provider website. For example, I searched for "Avatar", it says it's on YouTube but I can not click on the YouTube logo to go there and watch it.

Thanks for trying it. Yes this is a limitation of the data provider I'm using. I have to check with their terms of use if I can roll my own solution.

About
I needed a quick way to find where I could watch a movie in my country and I was not happy with the justwatch experience. So I built something easy to use, fast and with no distraction, just the results.
