Instant product market fit seems like a luxury. But you know something is working when people are talking. Every time we show WAQM to a bookkeeper or accountant, they start to do a little dance. That's how you know the product market fit is there. Now it is time to scale, automate and deploy.
We worked hard to implement a new version that includes support for QuickBooks Online and the USD version of QuickBooks. A totally new configuration system makes it easier to configure for one or more emails and to schedule custom schedules easily with a date picker.
As part of an existing consulting project, MCABC paid to develop the first version of the scenario. This first version was to implement QuickBooks Desktop for CAD currency. Tax break out was crucial as was automated scheduled delivery of IIF files to OneDrive for Business.
We learned by reading the Wild Apricot wishlist that integration with QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) is poor. The system assumes you are setting up a brand new company file, when in fact most use cases have an existing QuickBooks account. Sometimes the existing account has years of history and chart of accounts. Sometimes you want taxes broken out for each invoice. Sometimes you want to route certain invoices/payments to specific accounts and/or QB classes. Thus the idea for WAQM was born!

The customer pain we saw was evident in the wishlist for the underlying software — Wild Apricot.
This level of voting (200+ votes) represents about 2000 customers. Probably about 5-10% of all paying customers on their customer base of 15000 paying customers on the platform.
I learned from the Wild Apricot product management team that their QuickBooks support was build at least 5-7 years ago and had not been updated/improved in that time frame! That feature continues to confound their customers and yet there doesn't appear to be a good reason to fix it:

We haven’t had any changes with QuickBooks integration for some (long) period of time. The export to QuickBooks was added in 2012 or 2014 (don’t remember). This is what we have right now: https://gethelp.wildapricot.com/en/articles/69
The export to QuickBooks Online is not supported yet, and it is in our plans for 2020 (very draft plan, no promises for now).
I’ll ask our dev team to check the export function with QB 2019.

Thanks ***. The export works ok, but QB 2019 complains about errors which aren't really errors. If you say "I will fix errors later" QB 2019 imports the file just fine. So I think it's a QB 2019 issue with imports.
Eliminating the need for IIF files would be a huge time saver, as people setup their QuickBooks in all sorts of strange ways and then blame Wild Apricot for failure to export. QuickBooks Online I think is the future for their platform, but people tell me it's not ready for "not for profit " use -- although I have a hard time believing that.
