Wildbound
Turn your world into a game map
I’m starting to build in public around a concept I’ve been exploring called Wildbound.
The idea is a real-world movement game where your neighborhood becomes a living game map. As you walk or run, you unlock and transform parts of the world around you.
The goal is simple: make getting outside feel like exploration and progress, not something you have to force.
I started working on this because most fitness tools rely on discipline, and that doesn’t stick. They track behavior, but they don’t make it enjoyable.
I’m experimenting with a different approach — using game mechanics, map-based progression, and real-world movement to create something people actually want to come back to.
So far I’ve:
Defined the core concept and direction
Created early visual ideas and prototypes
Started testing demand with ads and a landing page
Right now I’m trying to answer:
Does this idea actually hold up beyond the initial “this sounds cool” reaction?
If you’ve worked on games, mobile apps, or anything GPS/map-related, I’d especially love your thoughts.
Also open to connecting with anyone interested in building something like this.
About
I think we’ve over-optimized life for convenience and lost a lot of everyday movement and exploration in the process. Wildbound exists to bring that back — by turning the real world into something worth exploring again.
