Custom Dress Shirts
As I run two side projects, in addition to full-time consulting, things have seriously slowed down for Williamson.
I have an odd feeling that I put the cart before the horse with the business and I would've been better off starting this after a venture or two, when I personally had more visibility.
The Stuart Butterfield "You don't sell saddles" is one of the best pieces of advice I've ever read or received and it's certainly true for dress shirts. If shirts were for Maslow's hierarchy of needs, everyone would wear t-shirts. We all know dress shirts have a time and place, with me firmly believing the right dress shirt is 100x better than an average one.
Because people aren't buying a dress shirt, I wonder if I should be the visible icon for what they are buying. Note: I'm probably not that right now, but I could be if I needed to.
I would push travel, entrepreneur lifestyle, and being well dressed (and crediting well dressed for the first two) while doing it. That's would be the brand.
What do you think?
This is a back dated post. We launched in January, very quietly, at least that's how it turned out.
Now, anyone can purchase shirts through our website and we'll ship them to you.

I moved to Hong Kong three years ago and found everyone wearing custom dress shirts. I was blown away by how comfortable they were and how much better you look wearing them.
