Wimit
Meet your friends easily
Started testing the app with people outside our close circle of friends and acquaintances. Lots of bugs as expected, insightful feedback and requests for new features. Plus making new friends and discovering a nice community space in the middle of London which organises interesting events if you are into tech, journalism, environmental issues and politics.

In an over-enthusiastic release act, we made a silly mistake that caused the app to crash. Sorry! It now works again - keep calm and go out to meet some friends. We learned enough about Core Data migrations 🤕 and Apple's expedited review process to not repeat the same mistake again.

Quite a few improvements that make the app better under the hood and one event that marked the week and reminded us of epic moments with friends at the iconic KOKO club across the street in London where Madonna, The Rolling Stones, Prince, Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga and many others started being rescued from a big fire. Go out and be safe everyone!

35 users at the end of the year! Multiple new app releases since the very first version that improved the onboarding, the user experience, and fixed myriad of bugs. People who use the app are sometimes not sure whether an invite was delivered or whether the recipient actually saw the invite. Need to talk with more people and work on the “deliverability” of invites and notifications.

Just tried your app and was thinking, during the registration process, you could deliver the SMS while the user is entering his name. It would avoid the user to have to wait on the next step. WDYT?

Thanks for trying out Wimit! 🙏
Did you have to wait a long time to receive the verification SMS?
From what I see it took about 0.5 sec to send 2x SMS (2 tries). Thanks for persisting! It's certainly worth improving the signup experience, making it fast and seamless. You suggestion is a good one and we are gonna look into that problem. 👀
Did you try sending an invite to friends? How did it go?

You can now upload a new profile photo or use that cool one from last year – up to you how you want your friends to see you. Plus our tireless elves crossed out a few other things from their naughty list this Christmas. Now is the time to go out and be jolly!

A small bug meant that the next action of an invite was not always updated. All’s good now so you always know what to do next. Get some friends together and have fun! This one also fixed notification banners appearing at the bottom when updating the time and replying.

You can now delete invites that never happened because of reasons or remove yourself from an invite and stop getting notifications. Just swipe left on an invite and tap delete. Your friends will understand. This one also fixed various dark mode glitches.

Winter and dark mode are here – at least in the northern hemisphere. A new funky version for iOS 13 is here too that makes it so much easier to confirm the date, time and place that you are going out with friends so brush off any winter blues and tap let’s go!

A few wrinkles ironed out to make the app smoother and a whole lot of other improvements and bug fixes went into this version but we'll spare you the details. Yes they were embarrassing and annoying to fix but they are history. Now let's go out!

What’s in a week? Lots: work, uni, gym, shopping, travelling, cooking, chilling, that series on Netflix and of course meeting friends. This version introduces invites grouped by week, a more minimal list of invites, and quite a few improvements under the hood. Now “drinks this week” makes so much more sense.
