I logged into our analytics dashboard after a few weeks of hustling and noticed that the graph was (gradually) going up and to the right.
It's not a lot of growth - but
- Week 1 of September - 9 WAUs
- Week 1 of October - 16 WAUs
- Week 1 of November - 25 WAUs
These past 2 weeks, I did a ton of mock interviews for the new YC batch which I believe led to this growth. I'm not sure how to scale this up but I'd like to improve this steady month over month growth for Windsor.io
We've ingested and indexed over 12M events from all our users.
It's a relief to see our efforts on scaling the system really pay off and our customers love Windsor. Now that we know our system is no longer the blocker we're looking to grow our userbase.
This starts by increasing the number of new users we bring on every week from our waiting list at windsor.io

Over the past year, we've onboarded over 50 teams and learnt a ton along the way. We've indexed >5M rows for our largest team
We're now reducing the number of new teams we onboard and are using a form on our website (https://windsor.io) to limit the flow of people.
We're hitting the limits of our system rather prematurely but to match identities as well as we do, the infra really matters. So we've chosen to rewrite a good chunk of the data pipeline from scratch.
This is a good indication of moving past the "Wizard of Oz" stage in product prototyping

Yup, we couldn't support more users up until now. It really was a "fake it till you make it" type thing.
Luckily we spent the last 3 months actually making Windsor actually useful before we made it scalable and that was a great decision.
We're not onboarding our next few customers by just reaching out to our network

We get a friend of ours who was in our Y Combinator batch to sign up for Windsor and start giving us feedback.
We learnt a lot of things right away. The product was completely useless to them at the time and required a lot of manual work on our end just to get it to be usable.
We began working on those issues

As companies scale, they stop being as personal with customers. That's the easiest way to lose customers to a new indiehacker. We help growing companies continue to be personal and maintain their edge.
