The Reddit post did extremely well! Received 86 comments, +380 upvotes and signed up over 300 users to have my site run their fantasy basketball lineups. It was super exciting watching all the signups come in. I got a lot of great questions and feedback on the Reddit thread too. Now I plan to pivot away from growth and really focus on making the product sing for the users.

I posted on Reddit's fantasy bball sub, and boom! There's a ton of traffic to my site, and it actually took me down for about 10 mins :|. I spun up another celery worker to help handle the load and have been back online since. Join the fun at:

I posted the site to Hacker News this afternoon, and I've gotten some pretty traction (well, it's not like it's gone viral or anything but it's got 12 likes and nine comments). Take a look! I'm answering questions on the thread there all afternoon.

I did a test run with a Reddit post on a small sub last night, and lo and behold woke up this morning to a notification that the site had signed up a new user! I'm going to post to a larger NBA fantasy based sub today and see if we can build a little buzz. For reference, here's the comment:

Hopefully I did this right! They found some helpful improvements I could make to build a more mobile-friendly site. I implemented these, and set page-specific titles and meta descriptions. Now just waiting for them to index the page. I don't expect to do any SEO, but it'd be good for users to be able to find us on Google.

I use Plausible for privacy-friendly product analytics. Today I saw we got two visitors referred from indiehackers! These are the first website visitors (non-bot variety) who found the site via outside references and who I did not invite personally.

I found five friends and family members who signed up their fantasy basketball teams to be run through my tool. I uncovered a handful of subtle bugs that I hadn't caught in testing by myself, and added some nice-to-have features to make onboarding easier based on their feedback.

I was on parental leave after the birth of my first child and was getting a bit itchy to work on something. I'd always thought it'd be a great challenge to build tools that could automatically run a fantasy sports team (my day job is in AI), and I decided to start messing around with the idea.
