People Shop With Intent Not Keywords
I built WisdomChat, an AI sales agent for Shopify fashion stores. The idea came from a simple stat: online fashion stores convert at 2-3%, physical stores convert at 20-40%. The gap isn't traffic, it's that physical stores understand intent and online search only matches keywords.
Three months since launch, I still don't have a signed design partner. Here's what's actually happened:
Cold calls and WhatsApp outreach to dozens of Chennai fashion stores. Most conversations end in "we already have an in-house team" or "not interested right now." A handful of real demos, including one with a marketing agency managing several clothing brands, that went well but stalled on scheduling. My first real install hit a backend bug on our end that blocked it entirely ,we found the root cause and fixed it, but haven't heard back on whether the merchant tried reinstalling yet.
None of this is glamorous. What I've actually learned: getting a founder on a call is easier than getting them to flip the switch and install something, even free. I think the real unlock isn't more outreach volume, it's proving it works on one real store before asking anyone else to try it.
We're offering free access for 3 months to design partners in exchange for an honest testimonial and case study, not revenue. If you run a Shopify fashion store and want to be one of the first, happy to talk.

The gap between someone agreeing to a demo and actually installing the product is a meaningful signal. It sounds like that transition has become the clearest part of the learning so far.
