November 7, 2021 Launch Wobaka 2.0 🥳

I'm really excited to launch Wobaka 2.0 today. I first got the idea to make a simple CRM in 2016 when I was doing sales for other projects and bloated CRM systems and spreadsheets didn't cut it. Fast forward to 2019 and Wobaka was born and today I'm launching the next step, Wobaka 2.0, still a simple CRM 🥳!

I've made some big changes since the first version was launched!

🥞 Pipelines: Organize your deals on kanban boards
🪂 Email automations: Put your sales email on autopilot
🪡 Tailor everything: Setup your own unlimited contact statuses and pipelines
🌗 Dark mode: Early morning and late night sessions without hurting your eyes
🌌 API: Build custom systems on top of Wobaka with our easy to use API
🤖 Integrations: Connect Wobaka to other systems using Zapier

I'm still making it better and using it myself every day. I'd love to hear your thoughts about it!

October 4, 2021 Trial without credit card

After requiring a credit card for trial since the start of Wobaka in 2019, today I decided to drop that.

However, I did add some upsell to encourage starting a subscription. Excited to see the results and look forward to compare it with numbers from trial with credit card 🤓

September 7, 2021 Launching Contact Automations

Automations help you save hours on manual work and are a key feature on Wobaka. Last month we released bulk automations which allows you to start an automation on multiple contacts at the same time. Today we're launching a feature which makes automations even better 🥳

I noticed that I always changed the status of contacts to "In Progress" after starting an automation. It didn't really matter that this step was manual since I was already on the contact page.

However, when I started to use bulk automations it became obvious that automating this would be super cool since I didn't want to change the status on each contact after kicking of a campaign. So I built it, and added the option to archive contact in automations as well which makes it easy to clean up after a campaign ⚡️.

August 18, 2021 Launching Bulk Email Automations

About a year ago I launched automations for Wobaka, making it super easy to automate personalized email follow ups. After first launching bulk actions earlier this summer I'm now happy to release bulk automations.

Automate personalized email outreach campaigns with just 5 clicks 🥳.

July 12, 2021 Launching Help Docs

After previously using the blog for some help documentation for Wobaka.com I finally decided to create a dedicated place for all documentation. Today I'm happy to officially release Help docs with guides to help you get started with Wobaka.

You can find it on help.wobaka.com and we currently have guides for:

  • Setting up automated cold email outreach campaigns in minutes
  • Invite team members and customize contact statuses
  • Write and manage email templates and setup email sending

There's also an FAQ and troubleshooting guide 📚

I'll continuously add more docs as well 🚧

June 22, 2021 Launching Bulk Actions

Big update for the contacts view on Wobaka.com.

Making changes on single contacts has worked great but as my list grew I needed better ways to make changes to multiple contacts at once.

So now I've finally added bulk actions which makes it super easy to select contacts to tag, archive and delete ⚡️

Also looking forward to add even more bulk features 🥳

September 12, 2020 Launch Email Automations

I started working on Wobaka in January 2019 and officially launched the first version in August the same year. Now, after using the system myself for more than a year, making sure to nail the basics, I've added a long awaited feature 🥁. Automations!

September 3, 2019 First paying customers

Big day today! After using Wobaka myself for months and later on sharing it with a few friends I got my first paying customers today. Such an amazing feeling when someone decides to continue their subscription after the free trial. Super excited about this and will continue moving towards my goal to make a really enjoyable CRM for small businesses :)!

Your product was featured on HackerNews if I'm not mistaken. It should bring more customers for you if that's the case.

A breakdown of the number of visitors/users/paying customers coming from these sources would be an intersting post :)

    1. 1

Sure, I'll save that for a future post :)!

Hey Fredrik, greatly simplified CRM without any fluff or bloat :) Well done!

Just curious - how many paying/non-paying customers does Wobaka have now?

August 26, 2019 Launched first version

After about 7 months of sketching and working evenings and weekends I decided it was time to launch Wobaka. I did one last sprint last week finishing up contact importer and making onboarding better. Since I've been using it myself the past few months I think the first version is ready 🤗.

Things I've made for the first version:

  • Contact search and filters
  • Pipeline overview and activity log
  • Email integration
  • Notes and tasks
  • Invite team members
  • Import contacts from csv

    Looks great!

Nice work! How did you decide on the minimum set of features for the first version? I find I have a hard time balancing fast release with value to the customer.

      Thanks James!

Since I'm using it myself everyday I waited until I found it really useful. Then I launched :). I guess at some point I just had to decide to do it.

Gotcha! Waited until you had value from it and launched - way to go!

Look forward to watching this progress.

Saw this on HN and thought it looked awesome! Great work

July 10, 2019 First MVP

It took a lot of hours here and there in the evenings on the side of my full time job. But now I finally have an MVP that I can actually start using myself and improve along the way. It's very basic, just a list of contacts and notes but still beats the old spreadsheet setup.

    🙌 Congrats!

Site looks great! Love the design!

Some unsolicited landing page feedback I wanted to share: I'd consider swapping "we've had enough" as the h1 with the line right after it "Sales can be fun." feels a bit more descriptive, relevant and encouraging imho.

    1. 2

      Thanks, that makes sense :).

    Looking great, congrats!

      Thanks Andrei :)!

I love the hustle. I'm currently using the free Hubspot CRM with gmail integration. How would Wobaka make my day better? I'm very happy with Hubspot and moving cards along the pipeline - that always feels super satisfying. What would you do even better?

    1. 1

Hubspot is a nice free alternative. I want Wobaka to be simpler and do less but in the end make you more effective.

I won't try to compete with features, it's rather what Wobaka won't do. I want to make a really nice CRM for small businesses that don't care about imaginary forecasts and every feature possible. Just an enjoyable and solid way of keeping track of contacts, emails, follow ups and how you're doing. And I think I can do that better :).

Your landing page is great! I may have a need for a CRM soon so I'll keep this in mind :)

I'd +1 the "sales can be fun" comment. I like that line and think it can hit just as hard as what's currently there.

      Thanks William!

Let me know if you have any questions. I'd be happy to help you get started :)!

    Beautiful Design!
Do you use any CSS framework or styling by yourself?

    1. 2

Thanks! No framework, it's all hand crafted :).

Not sure about the actual hours. Since the MVP I've added email integration, tasks, pipeline overview and just started working full time on it.

About

After doing sales for previous projects I got tired of bloated CRM systems and decided to build one that I enjoy using.
