Woice
Asynchronous voice messenger
Woice, the asynchronous voice messenger with automatic transcriptions, will soon release a slew of new features. These updates are designed to improve the user experience, create a more immersive community, and enhance privacy.
The new and improved home screen is the first thing users will notice. The updated design is more intuitive and user-friendly. Additionally, the new animations make the app feel more engaging and dynamic.
One of the most exciting new features is the member list on the community home screen. This allows users to easily see who is part of the community and quickly find specific individuals.
The addition of community settings opens up new possibilities for Woice. Users can now customize their communities to fit their specific needs. This includes things like setting community rules, changing the community's name, and even setting up custom emojis.
User profile settings have also been updated. Users can now add more information about themselves, including a bio and profile picture. This helps create a more personalized experience for each user.
Thread settings have also been improved. Users can now create both private and public threads. This makes it easier to have focused conversations with specific groups of people.
In addition to these new features, Woice has also improved its encryption. This ensures that all conversations are private and secure.
Finally, visual bug fixes have been implemented to improve the overall experience of the app. These updates ensure that users have a smooth and enjoyable experience while using Woice.
Woice's new features are designed to create a more engaging and immersive experience for users. With these updates, Woice is quickly becoming the go-to platform for asynchronous voice messaging.

We were thinking too much about producthunt. It's just one of the channels.
For the first time since I started working on woice the rest of Clover team joined in and helped make the push on social and other platforms. We posted on product hunt, Reddit, Facebook, hacker news, and elsewhere.
Product hunt deleted our post
we were 7th on hacker news for that day!
We hoped producthunt would be successful. but in the end, we learned that all other channels successfully brought up a lot of traction for woice.
I was also very excited when I discovered that some VC's have already shown some interest in woice.
Along with a bunch of other interviews I did over the past week and a half I am now confident enough to say that woice is a product I believe in and that the market has shown a lot of interest.

So i asked for help to launch a small campaign on product hunt and other platorms to get more validation for this idea. My colleagues at cloverlabs.io were more than happy to help. We came up with a mini launch strategy.
I'm hoping that we could land on the frontpage. I really think that voice communication could be better than texting. Hopefully woice could be the next big push in that segment and could start changing peoples mindsets about how they communicate with their temmates.
We're going live next week.

After talking to a bunch of different people from designers to product managers i found out that woice should be async first and how to approach the mobile app.
I also found out that it is necessary that i try to build a desktop app too. The main reason behind it is that people are doing work on their computers and rarely on their mobile devices. So woice and this concept will have to be translated into a desktop experience.
This makes woice a competitor to slack, discord, twist, teams and other work communication tools. Hopefully i could improve on concept to be able to stand next to them in the future.

Started building my first website for woice so i could show more people the idea and delve deeper into the problems of work communication. Created a simple presentation and recorded gif animations of the most important flows in the prototype and attached them to the site. You can visit it here woice.me
After posting about it on LinkedIN around 2400 people have now saw my post about building it in public and i've managed to get around 8 user interviews so far.
I've discovered that people really want a way to eliminate the noise and disctractions that come with instant text messaging. People are also frustrated with it because they are expected to respond instantly if they are online.
Also found out that another thing that voice messages are lacking is the ability to index and search in them without listening through the whole thing. Need to find a way how to enable users to read the content of a voice message without listening to the whole things. -> Added audio transcription functionality. Some interviewers also mentioned that they would dislike voice only because sometimes you just can't listen to audio messages. Be it because of noise or privacy issues. This insight eventually impacted on how the home screen looked like.

After researching the competiiton i deided to just jump into the water and start deigning the next big communications app. Used figma to create a clickable low fidelity protototype and gradually improved it over the weekend. Send a message to a couple of friends and asked for feedback.

After having a difficult discussion over slack with my colleagus i figured out that text messages aren't really that amazing for when you're discussing difficult topics and when you're trying to communicate more than just words. Emotions and warmth are almost completely gone from text communication. And the need for jumping from text to live call is a big frustration. And let's don't even talk about the intrusive nature of notifications and alerts that always disturb your deep work.
Text apps like slack, teams, discord and others are an evolution for text communication for teams. Asynchronous voice communication could be a revolution and it could eliminate the need for short calls and meetings.
