July 31, 2020 300 paid customers

In the last few weeks, I’ve been a bit quiet when it comes to sharing our journey so I thought that nailing the 300 paid customers milestone was a pretty cool opportunity to write an update. If you’ve been watching a few of the very well-known videos, interviews or keynotes from the famous YC founder Sam Altman, you must know that in order to build a successful startup you need to “Make something people want”.

June 9, 2020 1139 users using Woord

Proud of what we achieved in 1 month so far.

We are lucky that we can't flatten the curve (the users curve haha). Since our launch, we grew every single day our users base.
How we did this?
We posted on SaaS vendors directories, ProductHunt and many more. The more the better.

This week too, Indie Hackers tweet about us :)

May 31, 2020 776 users used our platform this month

A very good month for Woord.
We acquired the majority of our new users by creating content on blogs and we were lucky that the content went viral.
In May, 20% of our users came from our marketing campaigns (Google, email marketing, etc.) and 80% came from blogs that featured our content.

May 22, 2020 48 users using our Chrome Extension

🚀 We launched 2 weeks ago our Chrome extension to read aloud any web page using our Text-to-Speech service. The growth has been amazing, exceeding our forecasts. Our Chrome Extension provides an easy way to share our app to the world for Free, especially for people with disabilities where they can read aloud any content on the web.

May 19, 2020 PayPal added and subscription rate went up!

Despite that stripe is a much cheaper alternative than PayPal, users want to pay using PayPal instead of stripe . The reason I guess is the level of security they have as buyer to claim for a refund or cancel the subscription without needing to sign in on Woord’s platform.
So, my advice for IH members is to integrate with PayPal ASAP.

P.D. This milestone is not sponsored by PayPal 🤪

We just added Speed setup (16 different speeds) and 8 audio effects to our Text to Speech voices. Was incredible hard to release these features but finally they are live and working .

April 29, 2020 We launched on Product Hunt

We launched on Product Hunt. Although we gain a lot of visitors and signups from it, it wasn't a success in terms of upvotes.

An upvote will be really appreciated :)

April 28, 2020 8 paying customers!

It's been a long slog to get here, but Woord just passed 8 paying customers and 50 signups! This has been the result of several efforts, including blogging, social media marketing, press, and podcast appearances.

Being a solo founder is not an easy thing, because takes time to create a Text to Speech platform with an API (in 8 languages with gender voices)

I want to say thanks to all the community that inspired me to make this progress.

I am implementing feedback from our customers and getting the word out to more users, the snowball will start to roll more and more if the product is a viable one. This growth phase is crucial because it offers insight into the viability and potential sustainability of the product.

Please stay tuned!
