October 22, 2019 First Day: 100 players & $7 revenue!

24 hours after launching, Wordmoji game was able to pull a little over 100 unique players, which finished 200+ packs .

Here is details;
๐ŸŽฎ 102 unique players
๐Ÿ•น๏ธ 142 sessions
โŒš 00:10:50 avg session duration (which is very promising)
๐Ÿ’ธ 470 int ads 173 rewarded ads requested (7 usd)
๐Ÿ’ญ 147 packs are completed in total (every pack has 12 quizes)

There is int ads for every 4 quizes launched, and you can get +5 hints by watching rewarded ads.

Acquisition?
I will give rough percentages, because I had a simple landing page which I were using like a gateway, so I only have analytic of that landing page, not where the actual downloads came from.

I'm thinking about doing an ad campaign and I'm going to share results from it.

Also I would love it if you check the game out!

Woah, what a great game! Super well coded, did you do it in React Native?

    1. 1

Thank you William, yes with react native. What do you think an odd choice? :)

      1. 1

I'm a big React Native supporter actually. Kudos man!

        1. 2

OH WOW, now that I checked your profile, I watched at least 3 videos from your youtube channel in last year, great free content, I'm sure the paid ones are way mre awesome, kudos to you too, nice to meet you!

          1. 1

Thks man, I actually checked out your app to see if there were a fancy animation that I could redo/showcase on my channel. Let me know if there is something potentially there that I missed ;-)

            1. 1

After giving right answer to one quiz there is an animation using lottie, maybe that is what you are looking for :)

Thats amazing. Congratulations bro. Which ad service did you use for monetization?

    1. 1

Hey Daxeel, thank you! I use admob.

Thank you man. Any ideas to which ad network use for my new web app?
www.startuparound.com Help me with your suggestions.

Your target audience might be suitable for carbon ads. If you have enough volume in pageviews, try to apply them; https://www.carbonads.net/ (Join carbon link at top)

Also, not sure if your content stays in the domain of codefund, but you might try it; https://codefund.io

I think this platforms are for the sites where audiences are developers. My audience are entrepreneurs, startup enablers. Any suggestions?

            1. 1

I would take a wild guess that your audience is %50 percent also developers, you yourself has a description of "A coder and Entrepreneur".

You might need a native sponsor. I would create a list of companies, that aims to enable startups, by providing tools etc. (maybe like squarespace) and email them about your website.

Overall your best choice seems to be adsense if you are looking for a network to be honest.

Yes, even i was thinking of native ads. Thanks bro for the suggestions. I really appreciate your time.

October 21, 2019 My game is published on appstore & google play

Almost after 1 week of designing, puzzle making & coding, I just published my little fun project on both application stores. Now my goal is to collect some feedback from my friends and people willing to give feedback, then make necessary changes on the game.

Than fully launch, maybe throw few hundred bucks into promoting with ads.

Check it out if you would like to give it a try;

Congrats Burak, it looks very nice. I wish you a lot of engaged players and good monetization. I was working for the last five years for a local mobile game development company as a game developer, team lead, and project leader, and now I am starting my own story. If you think I can help you some way please feel free to reach me out. I will try to help

That is a very warm offer. Thank you so much, I will take you up on that via your twitter or email from your profile. :)

Just out of curiosity (and I am a tech addict). With what did you code it?

    1. 1

      Hi Georg.

It's a little uncommon, but I made it with react native. I also have used unity before, but this project felt like react native might be a better choice.

  4. 2

Your UI is extremely clean! I see you've made other games, have any of them been profitable?

    1. 1

      Hey Juhaelee,

I'm glad you liked it. Actually as you might have guessed, your quiz game was my inspiration. It was so simple and captivating, I implemented the same mechanic for unlocking packs (after half of a pack is solved the next unlocks), it just keeps you going.

Yes, Wordpack, (https://apps.apple.com/tr/app/wordpack-word-puzzle-game/id1350159332?l=tr) which was 1,5 year ago. It was also published on google play. It had more than 20k downloads combined. And made around $1k. I wasn't really trying to hyper monetise tho.

      1. 1

Wow, im really flattered that the logo game was an inspiration! I hope you left a good review! ๐Ÿ˜†

Awesome! Congrats on launching! :D I've dreamed of making my own apps for what feels like forever, one day I need to actually make it happen.

What tech did you use to build it?

    1. 2

Hey, I'm sure you can achieve, it is not that hard!

I used react native, but I would say you should use unity.

      1. 1

        Thanks :D

And okay! Good to know! - Any reason why you'd go for unity rather than react native in the future?

        1. 2

I wouldn't go unity per say, but for someone trying to make a game like this, unity is more specialized and newbie friendly. For some cases you don't even need to code.

If you are making an app, react native is way better of course.

          1. 1

            Gotcha, okay :)

    Congrats Burak, nice game.

Hey, thank you for good wishes.

I only released one more game before, and I'm actually really bad at it. The old game is currently getting 5-10 downloads and just about 20 sessions a day.

But for this game I have ideas that I want to implement to keep the engagement high. I will be giving updates on it, if you follow the product page you will get notified!

      Thank you again!

About

After working on a long term project, having few days to relax; I started making a little mobile game to keep my finger muscles warm :) There is similar games, but most of them were super old and was too easy.
