January 2, 2026 How a Realtor Friend’s Rant Led to Our AI Eureka Moment

I've spent years honing the art of finding startup problems worth solving. I've built playbooks, talked to everybody who wanted to talk to me about the problems they experienced, and learned that developing startup ideas is a muscle, you build it by constantly flexing it through conversations and curiosity. There are millions of "good" ideas out there, but execution on a truly painful, underserved problem is what separates winners from the rest.

For my co-founder Dan and me, the breakthrough came casually: a conversation with a realtor friend venting about his day-to-day chaos. That one chat uncovered enough pain points to pull us deep into the real estate world.

Realtors live mobile lives, they're rarely in an office, juggling showings, client calls, and emails on the go. They're "always on," qualifying hot leads even at 4pm on a Sunday because delays mean lost deals. Most either pay expensive human assistants for admin tasks or grind through it themselves late at night, wishing for help.

We dug deeper and spotted adoption barriers too: Waiting to get work once you sit at a desk creates massive friction, and nearly every realtor we spoke to groaned about "learning yet another new system or software."

To map solutions, we prototyped workflows in n8n, testing how agentic AI could handle lead responses, CRM updates, and client nurturing. It showed promise, but the real Eureka moment hit when we experimented with speech-to-speech APIs. Suddenly, it clicked: A conversational AI that realtors could simply call, text, or even email - like talking to a trusted human assistant - was the frictionless fix. No new apps, no steep learning curves; just natural interaction to delegate tasks instantly.

That's Worthington AI: Your always-available assistant for real estate, handling leads, communications, and admin so agents can focus on closing deals.

We're still pre-revenue, heads down on the MVP, but the hunger from early waitlist users is electric, they're excited about reclaiming time and scaling without burnout.

Congratulations on your launch. It looks impressive! What channels are you exploring to attract early users?

Hey Ajayi. Sorry I've completely missed your question. We're going straight to brokerages. We have a ton of brokerages within 1 hours drive. Most of them are already looking for AI solutions to leverage so are happy to talk. I expect we'll be able to find the first 200 users purely by founder-led face-2-face sales
