February 4, 2020 Featured on CSS Tricks!

I woke up one day to a bunch of traffic. Turns out Chris Coyier of CSS Tricks did a little post on WPAudit! This was very cool. Although it didn't convert into any revenue, I'm still honoured and it definitely exposed WPAudit to a LOT more people.

Since then, I've noticed. lot of people come BACK to WPAudit and seem to refer to it from their project management tools. I seriously love that.

November 28, 2019 Discounted Done-for-you WordPress Website Audits

I want to encourage folks to buy done-for-them audits to use on WordPress websites in 2020. So I added a 20% discount deal to the one-off audits – you can buy as many as you like to use within 12 months of purchase, with the coupon code TWENTYOFF.

I've no idea if this will actually work, the site is brand new and I haven't built any authority around it. As a free tool it's great and simple to use (at some point I'll add better tracking tools to see how it's being used), but for someone to invest a significant amount of money into it, that requires trust.

But I like trying things, so it's worth a try!

November 12, 2019 Launched WPAudit.site

I spent a total 8 hours writing the content, designing, and coding the website on November 10 and November 11. On November 12, I launched the MVP!

It's GPLv3 and I welcome additions and suggestions. In fact, since then, I've already gotten two PRs on Github that helped me make my own code more accessible! :)

I launched with a couple tweets on Twitter and by sharing it in a few slack groups. The first day I had just over 100 unique visitors come to the site!

November 2, 2019 Came up with the idea of a pre-launch checklist

I was at WordCamp US 2019, learning a TON about web accessibility, making furious notes, and thinking about how to incorporate accessibility into my WordPress development workflow. I have a list of things I try to check things off of whenever I launch a website or if a client asks me to do an audit.

So I started adding the accessibility items I was learning about on there. Then I thought, why not make this a public, super helpful, checklist everyone can use? And that's how the idea was born.
