Hit $1M ARR! Then...10 days later...$100K MRR!!

We just did our first month of $83,333.34+ MRR in May!

Not sure how people count $1M ARR (having one month $84K+ or needing to actually have earned an average of $84K/mo over 12 months). I'd probably lean towards the latter. Regardless, cool milestone to hit.

And then we kept going...

We did almost $100K in the past 30 days. Wow!

All credit goes to the great team around me. I've been a decent CEO and do something right but we would never be here without the hard work, dedication and drive of the folks I hired. Love my Buffs.

Also the new website has had a huge effect on accelerating us over the past ~45 days.

I'm sure a lot of folks here starting their journey in productized services will read this and think, Wow! That's incredible! Joe must be some special guy!

Nope. Totally just a normal guy haha. I honestly don't feel that much different than when I was running a company doing $20K MRR. Sure, I'm a bit wiser and understand the right levers to pull now for high impact. I'm a better leader than I was years ago. The team has grown and matured, as has our business.

But I really enjoyed running a company when it was doing $20K MRR. And I hope I still enjoy running it when it's doing $200K MRR.

I will stop rambling now but to wrap up, enjoy where you are right now in the journey. Be present, keep solving problems and eventually you'll stumble into $100K MRR too.

Wow, congrats! The new site looks great too 💪. I noticed you've got a video chat option rather than the usual text chat — how's that working for you? Has it increased the number of conversations you're having?

Thank you! I think it turned out pretty well too :)

It converts a fewer number of leads but more high-quality leads since folks book a call directly from it. Plus, our team doesn't have to deal with folks chatting in from livechat asking for free help on blog posts when it explicitly says we're there to talk about our services haha.

We do still have livechat on some internal pages. Now almost everyone we talk to in livechat is a hot lead.

        Awesome, thanks for the reply!

Wauw that's an awesome milestone Joe. Do you ever have the feeling you grow too fast?

    1. 2

Sometimes! But we've grown slowly for a long time and have the systems in place and a pretty scalable model for some faster growth so I'm not feeling too stressed :)

I just noticed you removed Stripe data, and started manual, thanks for the nice update! Long way to go man!

    1. 2

Yep! We moved our payment gateway to WooCommerce when we launched the new site and so the subscriptions now live there, not in Stripe. Annoyingly, the side effect is we don't actually add new subscriptions to Stripe anymore so we need to have this updated manually instead so we can pool Woo + Stripe + PayPal data :)
