June 11, 2018 Launch day

The plugin is live in the WordPress directory, and has been released for general availability.

The plugin's readme.txt has been optimized as much as possible in order to rank for "cdn" within the WordPress plugins directory. I've seen the plugin hop from page 6 (with ~700 plugins listed) to page 3 within about 24 hours following the launch.

June 10, 2018 Technical specifications
  • The API is also written in PHP and utilizes a redis-backed job queue called php-resque

  • The CDN service is provided by Amazon CloudFront

  • CloudFront distributions are handled via Terraform. For each WP site, the CF distribution/Route53/SSL configs are all rolled into a custom TF module, which makes it easy to move between one of the 7 different environments (all of which have their own job queue).

  • Ansible to automate all the things

  • Lots of additional PHP & SQL magic for processing daily AWS billing reports and providing current & historical usage data

  • Stripe checkout for handling plugin billing

  • More information on the Github page: https://github.com/wpgodspeed/wp-godspeed

June 10, 2018 Pre-launch

This plugin was created as a result of extensive R&D with CDNs on high traffic production WordPress sites. The technology behind the plugin is responsible for handling more than 2TB of data transfer per month. It's tried & true & tested, and it now lives in the form of a WordPress plugin called WP Godspeed.

Launch sequence initiated. WP Godspeed is in startup. Stand by for launch.
