June 10, 2019 Collector Add-on Released

After months of minor Designer updates, a short week-long development effort led to the release of the second add-on for WP Terms Popup called Collector.

With Collector, WP Terms Popup users can gather data about their uses after they have agreed to the terms and conditions presented in the popups themselves. It's a useful extra layer of functionality that isn't for everyone but required by others: perfect for a paid extension.

Collector was my first subscription priced WordPress product. I had to do some extra setup on the marketing site to support this new wrinkle but it would eventually prove to be worth it.

November 7, 2018 Designer Add-on Released

It took much, much longer than I anticipated but I finally released the first version of the Designer add-on for WP Terms Popup. This add-on is a replacement for the old Pro add-on which lets uses customize the look of their plugins without having to know CSS or write any code.

Designer is much more flexible and easier to use than the Pro add-on ever was. It was immediately more successful than its predecessor in terms of sales (although that's not really saying much).

September 7, 2018 New Marketing Web Site

The new marketing website at termsplugin.com went live. I cheated a bit here by taking an existing free Bootstrap template and converting it into a WordPress theme. All of the illustrations were done by the folks over at ManyPixels. The old site was full of problems, and looked incredibly dated, so I was happy to get something new out there so soon after I took over the plugin.

August 27, 2018 Taking Control

The previous owner finalized the sale and WP Terms Popup, and it's Pro add-on, became under my control. The first step was to setup the marketing site with a new theme and begin working on a new add-on to replace the Pro offering which wasn't quite up to my standards.

About

I purchased and took over development of WP Terms Popup as an experiment in taking an existing product, making very little each month, and turning it into something more successful.
