Hello, World!
I see a fair amount of Google Sheets add-on out there that's basically a GPT wrapper. This is cool and all but forces users to do things like:
=GPT_LIST(temperature=,presence_penalty=,prompt=)
Which is a lot of work for me.
So I was wondering if I could make a conversational Google Sheets addon that can convert your natural language into actual actions that can:
- Edit spreadsheets
- Give you analysis on spreadsheet data
- (later) parse webpages in cells and extract good info
- (later) draft and send personalized emails

Sounds great. Personally, I prefer PSQL mixed with JS/TS over spreadsheets (csv).
This is a cool idea! Have you started building it yet? I’d be curious to know how your architecting the project. For example is it possible to make GPT calls directly from a google sheet plug-in or will you need a backend? Also what is your plan for the UI? Would you provide a chat interface or maybe voice? Just a curious developer and this sparked my interest 🙂

You make GPT calls indirectly via a chat interface (it shows up as a sidebar on your Google Sheets).
Right now it is just a text chat but hopefully voice if there's large demand for it. Probably would do it after I refine current features + allow for more flexible features like scraping websites though.
