YAML Checker
A quick and easy YAML syntax validator
In 2022 traffic grew by 300%. The year ends with 150K unique users and 214K total page views. The majority of traffic comes from Google and Direct traffic. Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Yandex traffic sources have been growing as well, but Google is still king with roughly 1/3 of all traffic coming from Google.
We used to run an affiliate ad on the website which had an extremely low conversion rate. We switched to Ethical Ads and we are seeing much high ad revenue (10x or so).
While this isn't much, it's something. Meanwhile, traffic is growing 20% MoM which should improve our monthly revenue further.
We will continue to experiment with a few different affiliate options, but for now we are very happy with ethical ads.

In 2021 traffic grew by 170% YOY, and we're finally making a bit of coffee money. With our new ads from ethical ads we're making somewhere between $10-15 per month. We'll continue to monitor other opportunities for increasing ad revenue with affiliate programs or other ad providers.

In 2020 our traffic grew by 327% YOY. This is exciting, and we will continue to optimize SEO and ad new features next year.
This increase in traffic allowed us to go from $0/month in revenue to $2/month using Brave ads. We also added a new ad unit for some referrals to a variety of services which we are hoping translate to an increase in revenue.

We recently wanted to build a way to preview changes to the site in a preview environment. This would have involved some changes to a custom deployment script that we would rather not maintain ourselves.
We evaluated Netlify and found it had all of the features we need, and the free plan was enough for our needs. It ended up saving us a small amount of money per month (~$10).

Recently launched a simple utility to validate YAML. It's been gradually growing in traffic with referrals from github, mostly from devops tools. The initial version was built during a weekend and we hope to make some additional improvements as we get feedback.
Built with: React/React Static
Hosted on: Google Cloud Storage
