Field Service Management for Small Crews
Hey IH 👋
I'm Patrick, solo founder of YardTack — a field service management platform for small crews (landscapers, pressure washers, pool techs, pest control, etc.).
**The problem:** Most FSM tools are built for 200-truck fleets. They cost $300+/month, require onboarding calls, and bury simple features behind enterprise complexity. Meanwhile, a 3-person lawn crew is still texting job details and tracking invoices in a spreadsheet.
**What YardTack does:**
- Online booking with automated scheduling
- Crew "My Day" mobile view — jobs, checklists, photo proof
- Estimates → invoices → payments (Stripe, Square, or QuickBooks)
- Customer portal with job history and messaging
- Website builder with SEO — each tenant gets their own subdomain
- Job costing with materials + labor tracking
**The stack:** React/TypeScript SPA on Netlify, Supabase backend (auth, DB, edge functions, storage). Multi-tenant architecture where each customer gets {slug}.yardtack.com.
**Where I'm at:** Self-funded, full-time. A few tenants onboarded, working on outbound to local service businesses. Pricing starts at $49/month.
**What I'd love feedback on:**
- How are other B2B SaaS founders finding their first 10 customers in local/offline industries?
- Any advice on getting service business owners to try new software when they're used to pen-and-paper?
Happy to answer any questions about the tech or the business. 🚀
