Yenicorn
🦄 — There's a little yenicorn in all of us.
Our little mascot, the Yenicorn, got a bit of a shoutout!
I’ve really appreciated Kiana’s work — she’s got a unique aesthetic which I really appreciated working with as we thought through a reboot.
Just got another notice for renewal and it reminds me when we first decided to think through an actual mascot — I had no idea that people would even take to it, but, thankfully, that didn't matter since it was community-generated.
Another year, another renewal. Let's go.
Kiana has continued working on a few more ideas and we wanted to share them here!

Kiana has come up with a new icon design! Here it is, in all its glory!!
Yeni is looking pretty cool these days — not that she wasn't already, but, you know.
We're going to try to get this onto a limited run t-shirt via our new swag shop:
Finally, another obvious use is for things like favicons for your web apps and/or websites. I'll need to update ours in a bit:
I used this simple site to generate them auto-magically.
I love the work that Kiana is doing and the progress she's made in the last week has been fun!
She shared these iterations with me this afternoon:
What we're trying to do is find a "foundation" to build upon as we start designing specific poses with an ever-growing array of tools and artifacts.
I like some of Yeni's friends / sidekicks too! Kiana is giving a few of them names, which is a fun and unique.
A dope ride is, of course, an important part of being The Yenicorn; I think.
Yeni has gotten an updated look and I was pleasantly shocked at what Kiana was able to come up with in just a short amount of time!
So, without further ado, here's the Design Brief of where our amazing mascot is headed:

The inspirations are spot-on!
One of the specific things that I wanted Kiana to tackle were some example of Yeni "in-motion" — some more action-oriented shots and poses as she matures.
Iconic? Why the hell not!
Building out Yeni's universe will be fun, including her friends!
And really smart on the idea for an icon that can be used in promotional artwork and other collateral, like, favicons!
This is just the start — I'm so excited to continue the process!
Yeni has been in "hibernation mode" as we've remodeled and rebuilt her world, the yeniverse — but, it's about high time that she get back in full-effect!
Thankfully, through the power of the internet, I was able to connect with a talented graphic artist who is going to take our original mascot design and give her a bit of an update.
I can't wait to see some of Kiana's concepts that she's cooking up!
