$1,000 MRR - One year after launching!

Almost exactly a year after launching, YT to IG has finally hit $1,000 MRR.

Some might say that's a long time to wait to hit such a milestone, but I'm ok with it to be honest. Most of the work for YT to IG was done up front, and from there onwards it's taken up very little of my time. I initially spent a lot of effort experimenting with the best customer journey to acquire new paying users, I tried fremium, free trials, watermarks, everything!

I also put a lot of effort into SEO from the get go, which has proved to be a good decision as that's where almost all of my new users come from. It also means that even if I take my foot off the gas, I'm still getting new customers.

    Congrats, Jamie! That's fantastic.

I'd love to learn more about your SEO strategy. Did you focus mainly on building backlinks?

      Thanks, Radek!

I started off by looking at the search volume for the key phrases people looking for this tool would be searching for. The thing that attracted me was that the search volume, whilst not massive was relatively high considering that there was very little competition, i.e. no one optimising for the key phrases.

I made sure I had all of the SEO basics in place (title tags, meta descriptions, H1s etc.), wrote the content around the key phrases and then I contacted some individuals who had blogs about social media and luckily a few of them wrote about the tool which included a backlink :)

The fact that the key phrases were not very competitive meant that I didn't need tonnes of high quality backlinks etc in order to rank reasonably well.

Congrats man! First 1k is usually the hardest. What keywords are you targeting?

Congrats. It's always great to see that a project with small scope can make it :).
