ZapLead
Find hundreds of UK business leads in seconds
Here's a full Indie Hackers post:
I built a B2B lead gen tool in a week with zero coding experience. Here's how.
I'm a salesman. I've spent years cold calling UK businesses — telecoms, card payments, energy. And the one thing that always killed me was the list building.
Every morning before I could even pick up the phone I'd be on Google Maps. Searching. Copying. Pasting. Checking websites. Writing down numbers. Two hours gone before I'd made a single call. It was soul destroying and I knew every other rep on every other team was doing the exact same thing.
So I built something to fix it.
I had zero coding experience. None. I'd never written a line of JavaScript in my life. But I'd heard about vibe coding — using AI to build real software just by describing what you want — and I figured if there was ever a problem worth solving it was this one.
One week later ZapLead was live.
It pulls business leads straight from Google Maps in bulk. You pick a location, pick a business type, set your radius and hit search. In about 30 seconds you've got hundreds of results — business names, addresses, phone numbers, ratings, website status — ready to export to CSV and start calling.
I built it for telecoms sales reps first because that's what I know. But the moment I showed it to a web designer friend he immediately saw it for finding businesses with no website. Then a card payment guy. Then a solar company. The use case is basically anyone who sells B2B and needs to prospect local businesses.
Right now I've got a handful of users and £0 MRR. I'm not going to pretend otherwise. But the product works, it's live at zaplead.co.uk and I'm going after my first 5 paying customers this month.
If you sell B2B in the UK and you're still building lists manually — give it a go. First 50 exports are free.
Happy to answer anything.
About
Cold calling is still one of the most effective ways to win B2B sales in the UK — but building the lists manually kills hours every day. I built ZapLead to fix that. Sales reps shouldn't be spending their morning on Goog
