January 21, 2022 Order Page Implemented

We have launched a new feature, an order page. It is publicly available under a URL unique for each workspace. This feature gives our clients a much easier way to collect requests for their services.

The next step is adding productization to our services. That way our users will be able to create a catalog of fixed-price services. Easy to purchase without a need to send estimations to their clients each time they ask for something.

January 19, 2022 New Website

We launched our new landing page, completely redesigning it in the process as we saw that it didn't explain what Zendo was in a clear way. We hope that this design will stay with us for much longer.

We are still in a process of implementing the subscription system. Right now our users have no way of paying us 😂
This should change soon!

November 21, 2021 First Customers

We got our first customers and got some traction. Mostly from people that were waiting for us to launch but also from startup aggregator websites.

I used this list https://www.startupranking.com/booster/list and added Zendo everywhere I could. We did not yet launch on Hacker News or Product Hunt as we want to get a few things sorted first.

September 8, 2021 MVP Launched

The road to our MVP was much longer than we anticipated. Not many features made it to our MVP from the initial mockups, and it still took a few months too long.

My key takeaways would be:

  • Cut feature list to the bone and leave only the absolute essentials, things like recover password, two-step auth. etc., are nice to have, and you do not need them in your MVP.
  • Do not throw too many people at your MVP. This won't help.
  • Do not choose perfectionists as your team members. MVP should be good enough and not perfect.
  • Show your mockups to potential customers before you write any code.
  • Make sure your landing page is easy to understand - make sure people get what your product does. The best way is to user test the shit out of your website.

January 2021 Beginning of Zendo

This story dates back to 2016 but in January 2021 we have committed to pursue it.

Let's start at the beginning, I will be brief :) It all started with me being a Power Elite author on Envato Marketplace. A lot of my customers were asking me for customizations of my products. I figured that probably others authors face the same issue so I decided to build a dedicated team to provide such services. I asked other authors to refer us and built an affiliate network.
Quickly we started getting hundreds of requests a month and needed a system to store all this information and streamline our work. That's how WP Kraken was born.

WP Kraken was a prototype for Zendo. We used it for over 4 years and had people asking what platform is it and if they can purchase it. They wanted to use it for their own business. So we decided to build a SaaS version of WP Kraken, that's how Zendo was born.
