Zenovay
Connect your website traffic directly to your actual revenue
Today someone actually paid me money for Zenovay. Feels surreal typing that out.
Quick context: Zenovay is a all in one web analytics platform. Revenue first positioning, not just pageview tracking.
The numbers
75 signups total
1 paying customer (Pro plan, 20 USD per month)
Free to paid conversion: 1.3%
Small sample. Real money
What I learned
The free tier was doing too much. Session replay and heatmaps were free initially. People used everything, never upgraded. Moved them to Pro and the upgrade question started making sense.
Positioning beat features. Adding capabilities did nothing for conversion. Rewording the homepage to lead with revenue attribution did. Same product, different first sentence.
The customer told me the live 3D globe on the homepage was what convinced them the product was real. That is the exact element I almost cut three times for being too much.
All 75 signups came from posting like a normal human on Reddit, IH and Twitter. Zero ad spend.
Next
Talk to that one customer constantly. Sample size of 1 is infinitely more than 0.
One down. Onwards.
Just crossed 30 active users on Zenovay! Itβs still early days, but watching real people use our visual heatmaps and session replays to figure out why their traffic isn't converting is an incredible feeling. We're replacing clunky analytics stacks one site at a time. The grind continues, but taking a moment to celebrate this win today. Next stop: 100!

congrats, 30 active users is a solid start π
especially for something like heatmaps/session replays, that early usage matters a lot
since you're pushing towards 100 now, you could also try putting this into a competition
good way to get more visibility + validate it fasteralso, prize pool just opened at $0, so your odds are the best right now

That is a great milestone, congrats!
It's helpful to see founders like you post wins and struggles. It keeps things real and helps others along the way.
One quick question, in getting to 30. If you had to do it again, what would you do differently? (If anything)-

Thanks Seth! I'd probably launch the freemium tier earlier to get faster product feedback.

Congrats β 30 active users is the milestone that actually matters, because it's the first time you have real signal instead of guesswork. Everything before 30 is your friends and your own refreshes. Everything after 30 is data.
I'm right behind you on this. Solo-building a music rating and review site for the last few months and I'm stuck in the "have a working product, struggling to get the first real cohort" phase. Community acquisition for a consumer product in a niche with entrenched incumbents is genuinely brutal, and most of the growth advice I read on here is either B2B SaaS tactics that don't translate, or generic "post on Twitter" stuff that assumes you already have an audience.
So I'd really love to hear the specifics if you're willing to share. A few things I'm curious about:
Where did the first 10 come from vs. the next 20? In my experience those two groups almost always show up through completely different channels, and the second group is usually the one that tells you whether the product actually has legs.
What fraction of your 30 converted from someone you personally reached out to vs. organic discovery? I'm trying to figure out how much of the early game is hand-to-hand founder work vs. waiting for organic to pick up.
What's your retention look like so far? 30 active is great, but "active this week" vs. "signed up once and never returned" is the number that actually predicts whether you have a business.
Rooting for you. The first 30 β 300 stretch is the one where most solo products die, so keep pushing.

Appreciate it, Andrew! Keep pushing on your site. First 10 were direct outreach, next 20 were mostly organic. It's definitely hand-to-hand combat early on. Retention is solid so far. The free tier keeps them engaged!

Congrats! What's been your biggest driver to getting sign ups?
