We're going alcohol free, together 💪

October 4, 2019 First 1000 users!

With no marketing so far, Zero Percent has hit 1000 users!
Interestingly, most new users go directly to the chatbot, not the site – so users are sharing the bot with their friends.

What's next? ➡️

I'm going to build on this first piece with more useful tools to grow the no-drinking community💧 First up, ZP Maps: showing where the best places in your city are for non-drinkers. Why this? I ran a poll with the Product Hunt launch and this came out most popular by a healthy margin.

October 2, 2019 A few days later... we hit 850 users!

After a few days of checking that the app hadn't broken entirely and watching the traffic decline on Google Analytics post-Product Hunt, I glanced at the admin dashboard of chatbot users... only to discover that the userbase had nearly doubled in a matter of days 🤯

Zero Percent was built so that a user could get started wherever they discovered it – inside Telegram OR online. It looks like someone had shared a link to the chatbot and so the user numbers had grown very significantly without it showing on Google Analytics!

Not a bad surprise!

September 20, 2019 #3 Product of the Day on Product Hunt!

I launched Zero Percent earlier today and slowly climbed up to 2nd place for the day on Product Hunt before Safari (the web browser) came and snatched 2nd place!

Was seeing ~7 active users on the site at any given moment, and finished the day at about 1.2K uniques.

To do this, I messaged our 1st 100 users, sending a gentle nudge to support us, made a video about taking my own 100 Dry Days challenge to increase awareness, and personally responded to each comment that was posted on the PH post.

Off to a good start!

September 20, 2019 We launched on Product Hunt! 😸

After having given it a little polish, it's finally time to launch to a wider audience!

The aim is to get the 100 Dry Days challenge into more people's hands so we can continue learning and tailor something that really adds value to the non-drinking niche.

Would love to know what you think!

September 18, 2019 I've reached my first 100 users!

Several weeks after soft-launching Zero Percent Club with a few friends and sharing with Justin Kan's No Drinks Telegram group, we've hit 100 users!

Whilst the product is simple, general indicators are good with roughly 60% of users being active daily on the product 💥

Product Hunt launch to come very soon...

Love this idea, and 100 users looks like a huge milestone! Kind of the turning point where you know your product has a place. Keep it up!

January 18, 2019 A zero-alcohol community

I’ve become more of a productivity nut over time, and am increasingly mindful of the things that work and really don’t work for me. One of the things I’ve become increasingly reluctant on is drinking alcohol, because of its fitness and energy level impact.

I decided to build a product in this space because of an increased awareness of how much of an underserved demographic there is here. There's no shortage of places to tell you where to drink socially: countless apps and guides, even Google Maps has a dedicated search filter for bars – but where is the opposite? Alcohol consumption is so ingrained into British and western culture that it forms the basis of a big chunk of social gatherings, but that leaves little room for alternatives.

There seems to be a growing movement of alcohol reduction, related to ever-growing interest in wellness, mindfulness and health. It's a hilarious modern contradiction to be on a careful diet, following an intense fitness regime but still recreationally poison yourself once or twice a week.

Looking online at non-drinking content, the information availability feels something like vegetarianism 10 or so years ago – where a tide will turn in the near future but there are no clear social/information hubs for this emerging group yet.

For those people that have taken the plunge to cut back, the options are pretty sparse. Think sipping soda water in a pub surrounded by friends that are drinking.

Just because one person has given up/decided to cut back, it doesn't mean their whole friendship group has. And a person isn't going to change their whole friendship group just for this (and shouldn't have to).

Enter Zero Percent – an external source of information, accountability and support, alongside other non-drinkers.

Oh yes, the movement against alcohol should include people who want to get rid of a bad habit at will. Giving up alcohol can be difficult, but the benefits are worth it. Taking a break from drinking alcohol, even if only for a couple of weeks, is a great idea, especially if you regularly consume more than you should. For example, after I began to adhere to the advice https://www.theluckiestclub.com/resources/how-to-remain-in-sobriety-after-dry-january about staying sober, I noticed that my skin became healthy, and I felt much better. Previously, when I used alcohol, Meyan always had a skin problem. Now, I have long forgotten about this problem, and I enjoy a sober lifestyle.
