ZeroText

Zero-allocation text engine for smooth rendering

Most text rendering systems rely heavily on memory allocation.

At small scale, it works fine.

But when content grows or updates frequently, things start to break:

- GC pauses

- frame drops

- inconsistent performance

I kept running into this problem while working on text-heavy interfaces.

So I decided to try something different.

I built ZeroText — a zero-allocation text layout engine.

The goal is simple:

No allocations during layout.

No garbage collection interruptions.

Just predictable and stable performance.

Instead of creating new objects during layout, everything is preallocated and reused.

This makes performance much more consistent, especially for large or dynamic text.

Right now, I'm exploring how far this approach can go:

- Can it handle complex scripts?

- What about bidi text and shaping?

- Where are the real limits?

If you're working on rendering, editors, or anything text-heavy, I'd love your thoughts.

Most text engines rely on frequent memory allocation, which causes garbage collection pauses and unstable performance. I built ZeroText to solve this problem. ZeroText uses a zero-allocation design to keep text layout
