Znibbles
visual programming and creative coding tutorials
As a companion format, we decided to start with a more lightweight one, a podcast. We discussed some current projects and interesting topics around visual programming, and instantly got around ~100 listeners in the first week.
The recording and publishing experience using zencastr and transistor.fm has been great!
Great news, Cycling74 asked me to give them an interview, and it has been published on the website, and in their newsletter:
This was a great opportunity to talk to Darwin Grosse about the past, present, and future of Znibbles and my teaching philosophy.

After researching donation options, I finally reached the decision to try out Patreon.
The Kickstarter-style goals framework combined with payment tiers made most sense to me. Also, the option to integrate Patreon to my site via API was interesting.

While just getting to grips with the screen recorder software of my choice (Screenflow), producing the first video turned out to be both challenging and very satisfying. I'm still proud of the results, and it was immediately well-received by the community and got me into the Cycling74 newsletter after 3 weeks.

When I was looking for succinct and to-the-point screencasts on creative coding, and visual programming (Max, vvvv etc), I couldn't find that many. So I started out w a few videos and the response has been great so far.
