zubbit.io
The Ultimate Custom Link URL Shortener
What started off as a simple one-page uplift of our front-end home page and message, has ended up with us completely redesigning the whole front-end website from scratch!
But after weeks of blood, sweat & tears, and many late nights, we are now live, so it's out with the old blue boring site and in with a brand new fresh look and feel which includes over 80 new pages and posts, and of course our brand new fresh message based on great feedback from ο»ΏAaron Krall, Reuben Swartz & Peter Loving over at SaaS Visionaries.
We have also revamped our pricing points and features included and have made the decision to revert back to monthly subscriptions only (removing our Unlimited Yearly Deal forever). We have also decided to offer a "Get Started for Free" option as well, so customers can test drive the service for free if they want before investing their money.
We would love everyone to go and take a look and let us know what you think of the new front-end site and pricing.
All feedback is welcome!
We will be launching our brand new front-end website in a matter of days and at the same time, a brand new pricing structure which means our current $99 unlimited deal will be gone forever.
We would not like anyone from indie hackers to miss out on this incredible deal before it's replaced.

We all know being a SaaS Founder is one of the most rewarding (and challenging) things weβve all ever done. Itβs even harder when it feels like we have to come up with all the answers.
Indie Hackers has been a great community to share our story and learn from others but recently we also joined a small group for founders called SaaS Visionaries and itβs been one of the best decisions weβve made for zubbit.io and our business.
We've been getting 1-1 help from other founders on how to build a SaaS, plus we've been getting access to coaching, 1-1 help, revenue-focused communities, experts.
Shoutout to Aaron Krall who runs this new group SaaS Visionaries.
We were a bit sceptical about a paid group, but weβve already gotten more value from there in the past 2 months than years in other communities, groups and coaching programs combined.
In just one Level-Up session we've been able to spot unique selling points in zubbit.io that we just didn't see before, that's now enabling us to target our dream customers and stand out for the crowd.
It's looking like 2021 will be our breakout year.
Itβs not for everyone (invite-only for now, that may change) but if youβre an entrepreneur who wants extra help scaling your SaaS, I would check it out: https://zubb.it/SaaS-Visionaries

Hi Phil!
I looked over your product landing page and I am curious what unique edge are you building for your product in a heavily commodified space? I hope I am not being too harsh, I just didn't immediately understand why I would want to pay for your service over some of the free options out there.
Best,
Phil-

Hi Phil, not sure google has a link Shortener anymore but yes in terms of simply shortening links there are a few simple and free options out there.
zubbit.io is more focused on allowing clients to x50 their content marketing by letting you monetize any content from anywhere on the web.
So you can x50 your content output without hiring more writers or spending more time, but you can still monetize every piece of content.
You can do this by sharing that content via a zubbit shortened link which lets you add an advert onto each page you share. This includes Video, Audio, Social Media, Image, and text-based adverts. That's our basic USP.
I think our sales page is failing to put that over and hence why we jumped into SaaS Visionaries to get more 1-1 help to define who our dream customers are and what the message to them needs to be.
So we should have a newly revamped website launched in the coming 2-4 weeks where I think we put that message over with a bit more clarity.

We've just launched a new option on zubbit.io where anyone can try out zubbit for Free to see how it works and flows.
https://zubbit.io/try-zubbit-for-free/
We toyed with the idea of having a Free level or Trial period with limited function and usage limits but we've always been in two-minds if that is a good idea or not.
Do we end up filling the platform with people who never upgrade to paid but then burn through our resources, both support wise and server wise? π
But last week we had a potential customer tell us the website was great and packed with lots of information, but he just wanted to try out the back-office and see how easy it was to use.
So we decided to do something we've seen others do and add a shared public account where anyone can log in and just try it out and give zubbit a test drive to see if it's for them or not.
So what we are allowing anyone to do, is log into the free account and they get the following functionality to try out:
β
Create Call-to-Action Adverts (Text βοΈ Audio π§ Video π½οΈ or Social Posts π)
β
Create Call-to-Action Short Links π
β
Create Short Links (with or without Retargeting Pixels) π―
β
Try Out the Theming Editor π¨
Does it sound like a good idea or not?
PS - That potential customer did - even without a trial - join up the following day.
QUESTION: Do you have a Free Trial or Free Level in your Product/Service or a Try it Out function like ours?

Not your target client but you have pretty long homepage at zubbit. Rarely seen these days.

yeh Marky, the idea was we'd give as much information as possible but we are just in the process of breaking it up into a simpler front page with more detailed pages attached if anyone wants to drill into any area of the product.
-

It surely stands out of the pack so a good thing.
Be sure to split test. There was school of writing very long pages for selling (like 200 pages long). Not sure if it works today, information overload might be a bigger thing now.

Putting aside the long copy, one issue is the page load time and also if we've best positioned the content for SEO juice. As you say, testing and experimenting really is the key.

Appreciate the feedback and certainly mobile responsiveness is something we are always trying to improve on. I've been building Enterprise Business Applications for the past 30 years but the last ten years have been a challenge shifting functionally to work on mobile too. Always a learning curve finding out the best ways to do things and feedback is always useful π

UPDATE: Have had to temporarily remove this try it out function. It appears it clashes with our security settings, in as much as we are blocking more than one IP address using the same account for security reasons. Will need to think again!
We have been discussing and brainstorming this a lot over the last couple of months and have yet come to a decision whether or not new features at this time are needed to continue to grow and move zubbit.io forward.
Currently, we are debating three different new features which we would like to include, the 1st is whether or not to implement a public API or use a service like Zapier, the 2nd would be to implement the ability to have team members or to split your shortened links into Projects, the 3rd would be a UTM Builder.
π‘ It would be great to hear your views on whether or not to continue to include new features and if so which features would you include next?

It's our end of the month post π₯
Since we re-launched and switched over to Stripe we have now reached $590 in new recurring sales during the month of September.
It's an encouraging and exciting sign that zubbit.io is moving in the right direction and we look forward to growing zubbit further next month.
QUESTION π‘ What measurements do you use to know if your startup is moving in the right direction?

Hey Ron, have you considered adding a link example on the landing page? Got a bit excited reading all the features and I was like: "Hey, it would be nice if I could click on one of these links and see it in action".
-

Hey thanks for the comment. There should be lots of live examples on the site. Most of the example images click through to live examples. Perhaps we need to make it clearer so people take a look. Thanks for the feedback.

Thank you for the feedback - most of the image examples are also clickable links but would it also help if we included link examples within the list of features?

Though I haven't yet sold anything yet on my project weblister.co, I think if sales are coming through, you must be in the right direction.
Congratulations.-

Thanks, friend, and hopefully it will kick off for your project too very soon.

The new version of zubbit.io appears to be popular with the people we are getting to look at it.
We've had an increase of 523% in sales compared to the previous 4 weeks, so we are really excited about getting the word out more.
More importantly, though, the feedback we are getting from new users is good.
One area we do need to look at is better tracking as I'm not sure we know fully where the sales are coming from!
QUESTION π‘ What does everyone use for tracking Sales and how effective is it?

Have you tried Matomo for analytics?
-

Heard good things about Matomo.

Not seen that one before. We are currently using Google Analytics which I'm sure will do the job and its probably we have not become expert enough in configuring and setting it up to give us the data we need.
So we are getting some good and useful data from it but just not at the point of sale.

Ah sorry, I understand now. No, we don't, Well apart from offline versioned copies. We added a lot more functions on this version but with that simplified the workflow also. New functions are always great but do risk making an application more confusing to follow, and therefore more work to support. So we wanted to review the workflow end-to-end to see what we could make slicker. So far barely any support tickets from any of the new users.

Yep the main thing was updating the app. We did change the landing page to match all the new functions but after feedback and thinking more about the SEO aspects, I think we will revamp the landing page again over the next few months.
Have you looked at our landing page?
A bit busy with too much on? or information packed?

In this latest iteration of zubbit.io we've added support for #reels.
Reels allows you to create some really fun videos to share with your friends on Instagram. But now you can also make adverts out of them which you can then share on any website via zubbit.
Here is a live example of one:

In this latest iteration of zubbit.io we've added support for Reddit.
Reddit has 330 million active users so we've now added the ability to create zubbit Call-to-Action adverts from Reddit posts.
Really neat! - create an advert from any reddit post and share it on any webpage you share.

congrats on the launch!
... tbh, when i see "100X the value"... i do this: π.
Cheers 8bit. Much appreciated that you took the time to review and send us feedback. We've made some changes based on your's and the feedback received from others. The 100X part, I think we simply didn't explain our logic behind it or was hard to do on the front page so yes it looks like an empty claim. Thanks again. Phil @ zubbit.io
