[1 month progress] 30 people on the waitlist, one possible sale of 30 licences, 2 new use cases... Great month for Tiny Portals!

Two weeks ago, I made a post here (https://www.indiehackers.com/post/we-got-tired-of-re-sending-files-and-links-and-so-we-made-a-client-portal-3271c4a6c5) about a micro SaaS I was building with my cofounder.

And it got us a beta tester and a new use case, yay!

Then we posted it on Linkedin.. And it got us 29 more...

One of which was interested to test it out and buy 30 licences!
But only if we adapt the SaaS to their use case. Cool.

So... We added two uses cases (freelancer management and customer relationships) on top of the initial (client portal).

And then we ran some ads... And it got us nowhere in terms of leads... But it showed us usability problems on our landing page. I used Plerdy for heatmaps and scroll depth tracking.

Apparently, visitors were rage-clicking the static screenshot of the dashboard... Thinking it was a video...

Definitely working on that, because those clickers left the page frustrated, didn't even get to the features section.

Piece of advice, based on this experience (which resonates a lot with my 10 years' experience in marketing, just on a smaller and faster scale)

Get as much feedback as possible. You have blindspots. Everyone has blindspots.
Be ready to make quick shifts and pivots. It may mean a sale. A big one.
Test channels in smaller sequences, two by two (Linkedin + Ads... Linkedin + outreach... Instead of using 100s of channels at once...)

We shut down the ads for now. Linkedin on pause until we try the thing out with our current beta testers.

Next week, we're starting with cold outreach and more active posting in FB groups and on Reddit... Testing new waters in term of beta testers acquisition.

Quick. Clean. Manageable.
