Hello Indies,
There is this kind of users that shows interest to your service, they sign up and they stop.

What could be the reason ?

And what is the best way to get in touch with them and encourage them to use your service?

Here is my service : www.prospecat.com
What is about : A lead generation tool that finds leads and business emails in-app and on Linkedin

Don't ask us, you should definitely ask them why they don't use your platform anymore. Just email or call them and ask nicely why they dropped your service.

It could be so many reasons.
    They are busy.
It's not important for them (right now).
    It's not right for them.
They don't want to buy/use just yet.
    They forget about it.

I personally do it all the time :D Always looking and signing up to stuff, but rarely do I actually end up using things. Sometimes it's just not what I want/need, other times it is something that I may use in the future.

Triggers, like @theBrandonWu mentions is something worth looking into.

That's the golden question! Retention is a key metric for us (markd.co) and I came across this YC video on this subject (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOtCl5PU8F0&feature=youtu.be&t=510) about "Triggers", reminders to get people to come back.

It's a big area we've been neglecting - and something we want to start dedicating more resources into in the next few weeks for sure.
