    EPIC

    • [2019] 24 Product challenge
    • [Product] Launch Markdown beta (Feb)
    • [Product] Launch Investor Intelligence (Feb)
I'm actively shipping products to find traction, fit and affinity. So far it's been a win. Each of the 4 I've released to date have been top 2 PH of the day!

    YESTERDAY

    • Spent time with my amazing wife, 4 kids and pup (terabyte... an american pit). Important to balance time
    • Created 2 landing pages

    TODAY

    • Prepare PH launch for tomorrow, hopeful for Product of the day
    • Write article for PushToStart blog
    • Code payment workflow for I.I. project

You IH daily users are incredible!! I've been a fly on the wall for months and you've been incredibly inspiring!

    @Harlem Your a growth machine! 💯

    1. 2

Welcome to the fold! It must be a nice feeling to hit top 2 on PH. Hope you find lasting value in one of them! I've not launched anything on PH yet, are you warming up the crowd first somehow (ie a prelaunch campaign?)

      1. 1

        Thanks @Davey!

I do a lot of writing to my email list of personal contacts, constantly updating them on what I'm doing. Email is your best friend.

Re: PH ... There is an art to PH. Time of day you publish, who the hunter is, how much traffic your posting gets and what the source of the traffic is.

I also use a digital street team on the day of launch to really ramp things. I can connect you if you'd like.

I've found if you try to hack it PH, you'll likely target the wrong activities and won't land as a winner.

The best things I've built, I hunted myself and it was horrible outcome. Consolidating your marketing is key. When I did that I ended up creating 4 products...

        • HowMuchToBuildAnApp - #2 product of day
        • HowNotToLaunch - #1 product of day
        • Shots - #1 product of day
        • Slides #1 product of day

These were all in the last 50 days. I am also not alone, there is a team of us. @wendydean @tomerdi

When you are the product of the day on PH, it yields a tremendous amount of traffic for the coming week. Each of those launches received over 20k visitors. It allowed us to quickly understand fit, funnel and conversion mechanics.

        1. 1

I'd love to know more about what a digital street team is. I mean.. I can imagine it based on the name, but is it a group you hire?

          1. 1

Yes, it's a group of people that are popular on sites like PH who help with outreach. I've learned that not all votes are created equal. They do an amazing job!

Shoot me an email or pm and I can connect you to Wendy who can help you.

    EPIC

    • Increase responsiveness in the sales funnel (engage with prospects while they are interested).

    YESTERDAY

    • Brainstorming list of 20 ideas for widening the bottlenecks in our growth
    • Deployments of major infrastructure updates inside app.linkmink.com that will allow for app performance upgrades.

    TODAY

    • Research/implement sales chat on our marketing site linkmink.com
    1. 2

For widening the bottlenecks, can I suggest a 101 up top for Affiliate sales? It might be old news to you, but something many don't know about. There is a headline buried a little further down: "The benefits of a sales team without the overhead" which probably gets a little closer to the problem-solve language.

I'm a SaaS guy, I want revenue. I come to your site looking how to get revenue. I see a page showing me (I think) how to manage affiliates. I don't know too much about affiliates, so I feel dumb, and leave. It sounds like something I should know more about, but I have to go somewhere else to find it.

There is good content in the blog which outlines a case study, but again.. assume I don't even know what an affiliate is, and think about how your page might help to capture more people at the top of the funnel.

        This is great feedback. Thanks

Wow been a few days since I was in here. Nice little break, and a valuable reset for my internal measure of productivity. Income centered life changes on the near horizon so I've had to shift a little.

    EPIC

    • [Project]Q1 AutomatedApi in alpha
    • [Personal/Professional] Feb/Mar >50% income replaced with freelance work, pretty sure this means developing a freelance client base and shifting that toward a software development/contract agency. I'm calling it a dog-fooding product with a direct income side effect.

    YESTERDAY

    • Rest and Recharge
    • Submitted 2 work proposals to prospective clients.

    TODAY

    • [Project] Reorient my work board toward making it easier for me to use my own product...i.e. plan to make the 'things that don't scale' more scalable so I can leverage my own product better in freelance work.
    • [Agency] Submit 2 more work proposals
    • [Agency] Go through 1 client call
    • [Agency] Schedule one client call

KUDOS to the IH daily users, you're a valuable resource and an inspiration

    AutomatedApi.com
[also a pending consulting oriented personal page redesign]

    1. 1

Excited to read about your shot of productivity insulin based on the recharge!

    2. 1

Ahh some rest is good :) I do that from time to time and take whole weekends off when the kiddos are with me :)

    February

    • Nail down an official launch date for folyoz.net
    • Debug and test with early access users

    Accomplished Yesterday

    • Not enough!

    Today

    • Measure traffic sources
    • Create content plan (today and throughout the week)

    Kudos

    • @Harlem I feel like you have some great potential through social!

Checked it! Beautiful design. But I can't tell from the ATF content what value you're providing... (Perhaps it'll be more obvious to your target market?)

      1. 1

Thanks for the insight! The wording is a tad more obvious to our target market, but I'm looking to make the wording on our site post-launch more accessible.

    EPIC

    By end of 2019:

100 paying customers. 5 earned to date.

Trying a new 2019 epic on for size:

    5K MMR

    By end of February:

    * 50 qualitative first chapters published by women. 19/50
    * 25 submissions and/or third chapters written. 9/25

Trying a new February epic on for size:

    • Determine whether I've identified a problem worth solving.
    • Determine whether I can rally the resources necessary to gain SEO prominence, thereby negating the need for paid advertising.
    • Determine the requirements necessary to achieve 5K MMR.

    WEEKEND

    • Completed the build out of landing page #1 (desktop only).
    • Determined the schedule, and the resources required, to generate content.
    • Continued shit-tons of SEO research.
    • Reached out to 20 more influencers. (Thus far, I've generated content for 6 posts.)

    TODAY

    • Optimize landing page #1 for mobile.
    • Complete buildout for landing page #2 (desktop).
    • Create social accounts (IG and Pinterest).
    • Research best tools for social automation. (Anyone have recommendations?)
    • Determine categories and tags based upon SEO.
    • Reach out to influencers.
    • Determine my first 20 posts.

KUDOS: To the Stand Up Crew. Especially @AndrewV, @Davey, @vimalin. Y'all always turn up. And always with the tough love and qualitative feedback that I need. (Smooch!) Y'all are awesome.

WIP: Happy Endings Seeing how this strike-through feels.

  6. 3

Working on Trolley - I've just launched the new Subscription Payments feature and I'm writing content to market it.

(Use Trolley to take recurring payments from any website :) )

  7. 3

    EPIC:

    By end of February:

    • Push a new landing page with updated content + a video.
    • Create a proper blog, convert old entries and post a couple new ones. (Done)
    • From January: Solidify next steps for getting some beta users and feedback.
    • Continue push to get out of beta.

    Past however many days:

    • Not sure why I say "finish up copy" - I'd release the new over the old, but it's a never ending process :)
    • Started playing with video again. Didn't get the list done.
    • Minor app tweaks based on feedback.

    Next few days:

    • Seriously. Video. Today is all about getting the list done and retraining my brain to screen record.
    • Record screen, play with text transitions and get a simple, decent look for text overlays.

    2019 Goals for Magnus Rush

    • 50 Augmented Podcasts: (0/50)
    • 12k MAU for the App: (0/12k)

    February Epics

    • SaaS Beta signups: (10 of 5) (200%)
    • Mobile App Beta signups: (35 of 25) (136%)
    • Prepare for beta launch: 100% complete

    Yesterday

    • Officially launched the Android beta
    • Bug squashing in the mobile app
    • Ironed out a major server efficiency in automatic podcast updates/transcripts
    • Created local cache for the home screen on the app, resulting in a big performance boost and less hits to my server
    • Cleaned out a ton of unused assets from the project

    Today

    • Hands off the mobile app, watch the logs
    • Make minor change to signup page
    • Launch SaaS Beta

    Kudos
@AndrewV for early testing my Android build, which let me release it weeks early
@Harlem for being brave and pragmatic

    1. 1

Hey @Davey are you mostly using email to close beta signups or is there another process behind the scenes? Great work.

      1. 1

I did a few direct reachouts for the SaaS, but got little traction there. Which is good, because those silver bullets I'd rather save once I have some other feedback. I got most of the SaaS beta signups and many app beta signups from a Medium article I wrote!
