Any founders that have launched on Appsumo?
by
Daniel Pirciu
I'm looking for founders that have launched on Appsumo and are willing to share their experiences.
I ran a private LTD (without AppSumo) for $50k. I know it's not exactly what you asked, but if you want to hear about the experience I wrote about it here.
@thefedoration, you rock! this is exactly what I'm looking for, revenue + key learnings ... thanks a lot for sharing this!
Happy to help. Best of luck with your LTD!
Yes,
I launched Loopcv (https://appsumo.com/products/loopcv/ )
It was a great experience and we generated a lot of revenue (we still do)
Happy to help :)
Let me know if you have any specific questions!
interesting product, and how is it going so far in terms of sales and key takeaways?
I did, I made one sell since then. It was more than 6 months ago :/
@AndrewKamphey has a very good experience of it tho!
@xavier, let's connect on Linkedin and get in touch ... I really like your info products
Just did!
yep, I've had a good experience. AppSumo has literally saved my life.
yes, @AndrewKamphey, I remember your tweet and I also have your story from starterstory ... thanks a lot for sharing!
Not a founder, but I worked very closely with the founder when launching Picmaker on AppSumo. I'd love to help you out.
nice nice, let's connect ... what's your LinkedIn profile?
Here you go -> https://www.linkedin.com/in/jagadeash-s/
Yes,
and we shared our experiences on AppSumo's blog: https://blog.appsumo.com/appsumo-launch-checklist/
@merno0sh thanks for sharing the story, Ill read. And how did you add a post into Blog, there is no "NEW POST" button ?
Sure thing. They asked us to share our experience and story with other founders since we were in the top selling tools of the year until then ^_^
Congrats! I really love the AS platform UI, design and effectiveness. although it is really "dead" for beginners like me, they don`t provide almost anything, 90% features are blocked, until you get 5/10/15 reviews.
I manage to get 2 sales and 1 5/5 taco review, but then it stopped. The product views are increasing a little, cause we are posting, but nothing more
I don`t know what to do, just sit and read their How to Sell Your Product guide...
really, really insightful takeaways, thanks for sharing @merno0sh ... I like the 1-to-1 calls, making as many video tutorials as possible, and writing as many case studies as you can
what would you say is the one thing with the highest impact that drove this success?
p.s. from my research, based on your product category, you're right on spot, the average revenue is around $150K

Sure. Well, it's always a mix of different actions, but building a community and keeping in touch with them is the most important action you should do. It's sometimes scary, especially when things go wrong (for example if you experience temporary server issues even for a few minutes). But overall, the pros are much more than the cons. When you have the support of your community, everything that you build (including any type of content, product features, reports, updates, etc.) will be for the benefit of your community, and that way, you can grow with the help and support of your community.
P.S. Community management is an overwhelming yet exciting and critical role if you want to go that way.
P.S.S. This mostly applies to b2b SaaS tools that go for the bottom-to-top approach when it comes to market adoption.

We launched (and are still live) on AppSumo Sturppy (https://appsumo.com/products/sturppy/)
Happy to help another founder.
nice nice, and how is it going so far, how many sales did you get?
We have more than 1k sales, tell me what you would like to know
nice nice, 1K in sales is around $50K total revenue
questions:
Hello! We have launched on AppSumo with MetaSurvey on 26 May. It gave us 2 sales, and around 400 product views, but put us on the last pages of all category listings (which is bad)
Actually, they don`t promote you AT ALL until you get 5/10/15 reviews. Then the machine starts working (I hope)
yes, I heard you need to get some kind of traction for them to feature you in their newsletter or Fb group ... thanks for sharing, @standiz!
Daniel, I'm a complete newbie, a wannabe entrepreneur (still building my product) ... can you share what have you learned so far regarding Appsumo and these lifetime deals?
I believe the most underrated thing that few ppl will tell you is the product-channel fit.
There are a few types of products that are doing really well on Appsumo, like CRMs, Client management platforms, and almost anything E-commerce related.
Yes, I have!
Three months ago, a member of their team contacted me on LinkedIn to share my software on their platform. They have been nice and pretty helpful for the onboarding.
However I did not manage to sell anything there yet ->
for which product, @KudzaiLX?
did you get to be featured as a Select deal or you've listed only as Marketplace?
For Eazitron, here's one of the product of the suite.
I didn't hear anything like Select deal, so I think it'd be Marketplace. I had to list it myself and nobody edited it afterwards.
$299 that's an expensive LTD ... have you tried promoting it in other communities, like FB groups, or anything besides Appsumo?
It's not that expensive when you think about it as a suite of FileMaker templates, which is pretty much a niche. Moreover, in its runtime version, it is cheapier than comparable software, one-time payment, and the one I listed is one of the most expensive because it helps you manage a whole real estate agency. You can compare this to the value you get when you buy a Zeroqode template for your Bubble account.
I promoted it on platforms like Capterra and Alternative.to, but haven't really promoted it in communities, since I am not really a "community-focused" guy. I have also tried a bit on Twitter, but it wasn't much efficient.
Hey Daniel,
I have a few months of AS experience. I try to be helpful.
https://appsumo.com/products/monitup-employee-monitoring/
and how is it going, @Faruk_durak? what are your learnings so far?
have you tried promoting the deal on other communities, like FB groups?
I tried to write a little detail, I hope it will be useful:
https://www.indiehackers.com/post/what-have-i-learned-so-far-from-my-appsumo-launch-caedec7d7f
nice, thanks for sharing @Faruk_durak, and good luck with your AS listing :-)
Thanks Daniel, sold another license today, launch is getting better :)
Just listened to this podcast episode the other day, I think it'll be useful for you too, great insights there: https://microconfpodcast.com/episodes/microconf-refresh-episode-37-the-appsumo-treasure-trove-with-ruben-gamez
Thanks A LOT for the link, great stuff it’s exactly what I need for my Appsumo Deals Report
I will feature them as well, thanks again
The revenue results are not directly collect but just an estimation?
For over 35 deals I have collected the revenue number directly, and for over 900 deals I'm forecasting their revenue based on a multiplier.
