ASK-IH: Feedback on a landing page needed. πŸ”₯

What is the first thing that comes into your head when you see this? https://coreskills.dev/

EDIT: I've received so much interesting and useful feedback. Thanks, everyone for contributing! 🀝

First thing that popped into my head literally? Cocoa CoreData, lol.

Honestly, the landing page is quite poor and disappointing for the purported value the product offers. There's just too much text and the TLDR world needs more visuals and easier CTAs. I don't even want to give my email address at this point.

CoreSkills saves everyone's time (both candidates' and interviewers') by taking care of tech evaluation mechanics with real-world projects tailored to this very dev job you're hiring for.

This is your most important marketing line after the heading. Make it stand out:

CoreSkills is a developer recruitment platform that takes care of evaluating developers based on their real-world projects without you having to go through their GitHub profiles or even asking them to write code.

Or something like that... make me intrigued as a hiring manager and I'll keep reading. And more visuals please :)

First sentence should be: "Hiring the right developer is extremely difficult. Let us do the dirty work and accurately validate the candidate's suitability, so you'll only need to focus on making the right offer to the right person"

Of course, it's a perfectly valid option to pay them a couple of months in salary and inherent that unmaintainable mess.

I'm not a native speaker so take it with a grain of salt, but is that meant to say "inherent" there? Inherit maybe?

      Oh, great catch! Thanks! 🀝

    https://imgur.com/a/lNukYOP would be much better.

    More spacing.

People probably aren't going to "try it" after just reading the header (probably want to know pricing, testimonials, etc).

I would put the testimonials after that in a row.

Big text header about the benefit it provides companies.

Then clear information (less text) about how it works.

    Then pricing information.

    Then a CTA.

Hey Anton. Firstly, awesome work launching the landing page. Honest first impression - It's too wordy, theres a lot of text to read through before I could get an understand the solution. I think you could reorder the landing page to describe the problem first, then offer your solution.. For example:

    ATTENTION TECH RECRUITERS

How do you REALLY know if someone has the skills for your open position? What options do you have?Β πŸ€” …..

    ..

    ..

OUR SOLUTION - Customised Tech Evaluations

    HOW IT WORKS

    ..

    ..

    CTA
    …

I don't know much about this niche, but the idea seems pretty solid. As for the page, I agree with what @shawnjavadi has said.

    • You can search 'web color accessibility' and find a few good resources to help check your color contrast.
    • I wasn't sure what 'tech evaluation' meant. The first paragraph gave me a clue, but I had to read the second paragraph to be sure.

A potential alternative to your header and first two paragraphs:

    • (header) Hiring a Developer? Try CodeSkills. (paragraph) We evaluate your candidates with real-world projects that match the skills you're looking for.

Some of this feedback is subjective so take it with a grain of salt :)
Nice job overall. Like the emojis a lot.

    • Spaced out font is VERY hard to read for me
    • Value proposition is wordy. I'd also recommend shortening it.
    • The "they will bail if you don't solve for this" text is very hard to read/see due to the the contrast.
    • Speaking of contrast I'd avoid #000 for your font color. something a tiny bit less black will make it more pleasant
    • Speaking of black I'd consider changing the CTA to a different color than the gray. right now when I open the landing page my focus goes directly to "Imagine you want..." section. I bet my attention would go straight to the CTA if it was a different color
    • Lastly I'd say that the landing page is too much like a word document, and it's overall a bit bland
