    Agreed - they literally hand out tokens when you attend certain events in London and I honestly think most people completely forget about them. If it's not something they've actively committed to, it's just like owning any old freebie you're given at a networking event.

      Right, exactly, and startups end up with the wrong kind of customer, all of whom are uncommitted owners with a stake in their company, regardless of their actual commitment or interest. I think Levie is right to question whether these businesses are over-estimating the consumer demand for ownership - commitment isn't real if it's purely transactional.
