I'm going to have to try this for myself to understand how it really works - it's hard to imagine. It's a cool concept in that it'll help people empathize with sufferers of Alzheimer's - it would be even cooler to come up with a game FOR sufferers of Alzheimer's that would work almost like a form of therapy that helped them remember things.

I'm not a doctor so this could be irrelevant - but I don't think Alzheimer's can be prevented and/or improved through therapy or medicine. So, I was surprised to read "Just as in real life, Alzheimer’s medication can boost the character’s ability to remember, helping players advance in the game. " Whilst the game does seem really cool - I think: to the extent that (1) it could be fun, and (2) it encourages empathy with sufferers of Alzheimer's. I don't think it does much for patients.

It doesn't seem like it was their intention to cure Alzheimer's though. They wanted to "imbue gamers with a better understanding of Alzheimer's...and have a broader emotional impact on the public."

I'm curious to know - are any Indie Hackers building products in the healthcare space?
