Now that I've had one small success, my mind is racing with potential ideas to expand. Any tips on how to calm down, pick one thing, and get it done?

For contex, what was the success?

      Context would help!

I launched a book which has been selling pretty well, and actually led to some beta signups for my SaaS. From there, my mind started racing to all of the things I can do to promote book + SaaS. I have tons of content ideas, spinoff/related products & services, and direct sales ideas as well.

My mind has been racing. I know I need to settle down and pick a plan, so I'm wondering if anyone has a strategy/methodology/plan for whittling down the idea list. Thanks!

Just one bit of extra context... what is the website/product what is the ebook?! Thanks :)

Please apply "IMHO" to all of the below!

Your eBook is a great lead gen. But your sustainable business is wpautotest that's where your focus needs to be right now.

You need to grow your seed group for this product (watch the video in my profile, forward to the part about validating a side project).

Your next best bet is to setup a slack focus group something like - wpautotest-focus-group - create a permanent link and then send it to people on your list and people who bought your book. With a message like:

"If you would like to be a part of shaping the future of wpautotest join my slack group"

Then, talk to customers as much as you can and fully validate your absolute MVP. Because perhaps there are just a few core modules that you need to test? Or maybe they don't care about modules and they are more interested in uncovering weird php errors?

Once you get those daily convos going with real customers who are super excited about you releasing your product everything changes ad you'll get a pep in your step!

            (IMHO)

If you're talking about deciding between different business ideas, I recommend developing some sort of business idea validation checklist. You should have items on the list related to product development, distribution and marketing, your target audience, business model, etc. Run each of your ideas through that list and see what scores the highest.

If you're talking about ideas for how to expand the feature set of one business, then I highly recommend using Intercom's RICE framework to help you prioritize.

      Thank you for this!

Hey Andy, I just set up https://www.kanochart.com to help people take decisions based on what's valuable to their customers. I did it to scratch my own itch (spent too much time in Excel & I wanted to automate some stuff).

I've not really launched it yet, but if you want to have a go at it, I'd be very happy to hear your feedback!
