Do you build your own landing pages or use a tool/solution/hire a freelancer?

I am building an API based SaaS, and require a landing page for managing API subscription and generating leads. I don't know any frontend development, so should I learn it and build my own landing page or use a landing page creation tool. Alternatively, would you recommend me to hire a web developer?

People recommend Webflow but it is quite complex and can take a long time to learn.
Designers from what I have seen are expensive, and if they aren't then you can just use a template and get better results.

I have seen SaaS Pages on product hunt. It was a huge hit there, so congratulations are in order :) Does versoly support generation of API keys for subscribed users because my API will require developers to provide keys for authentication?

What you're looking for is a little more complex. Not sure you can do it without a little bit of frontend coding.
I don't recommend hiring a developer for it.
You also need to work out how you will do payments etc.
What is the backend coded in?
Backend is in flask (Python 3)
interesting looking over the comments. What does everyone think about products like instapage.com, unbounce.com, and leadpages.net. They have great templates and conversion tracking which is what you want on your site. You can't build a site on it but when I think landing page that what comes to mind. Oh and I also forgot the quick ability to do A/B testing which is super important for your wording.
Great solutions for bigger companies who have sales funnels etc.
Some of them cost $129 a month, most people here are bootstrapped.
Also A/B testing requires a good amount of visitors to your site as well.
I have had a look at unbounce and leadpages. They look great but till I can get some traction, I have to go easy on the wallet. I am a bootstrapping after all.
Do it yourself. There are no code that require zero skills. Versoly made by @volkandkaya is a cool product, incredibly easy to use and well priced. Only con, you can't customize the fonts but he said that they are working on it. Landen is good too.
Carrd is another tool that I used. It is cheaper but requires more time to learn the basics and build you landing page.
All these tools are made by indiehackers if it is something that you care about.
Don't hire someone when you can get the same results for less than 1/10 of the price and in a hour of work. Plus, if learn to use these tools, you will be set for life when it comes to landing pages. Hiring someone is a short term fix.

A landing page is another word for a marketing page whereas a admin dashboard is for managing subscriptions, leads and other application stuff.
A landing page integrated with an admin dashboard powered by the same backend is common. I was actually looking for solutions akin to that...
That is actually not a good solution.
You want your app to live on a subdomain such as app.example.com. Means you can change the landing page without messing around with your app
I am not providing a tangible app. I am providing an API service, which will live on a different server. I just need my landing page to handle user signups and credential generation.... But I do get what you mean and I'll keep it in mind.
That isn't a landing page :)
You should be able to create something quick in Flask to handle that.
How do you plan on making money?
I think I did not get the point across clearly. I am making an API service for scientific calculations. Users can make requests and get responses in JSON format (using POST).
I need a landing page to inform people about this service, and handling signups. Flask does not do frontend that well, so I wanted a better-looking solution.
I can make money by setting request limits tier-wise. Check out twilio: http://twilio.com They are an API based SaaS and I am aiming for making something similar.

Frontend is just HTML/CSS and JS. The backend language doesn't matter.
Interesting idea. I have never heard of any app that handles all of the apps frontend but for you it could be possible.
You're going to need some sort of user login and stripe for payments.

I don't care if my frontend is being handled by the same backend which is serving my API. TBH my API will live on a separate server, and my landing page can be hosted separately.
What I simply need, is a way to generate credentials for users from my landing page, which I can someway verify in my API.

Landing page is just for advertising your product i.e. a marketing page. For login and other stuff you'd basically have to create it yourself unless you want to user another authentication service which still will most likely require you to integrate it.

We use landen.co for quick test landing pages, and webflow.com (with the help from a designer) for our main homepage at markd.co.

Naw, you just need a simple tool like sytescope.com. Easy to build out everything you need with drag and drop.
Absolutely hire a web developer / designer. I “designed” my landing page on my own as I prefer simple rather than the new style of web apps.
I would have a separate domain for each project.
Also your landing page can be improved a lot. Let me know if you want some advice always willing to help :)
