Do you find newsletter sponsorship as a good marketing channel?

I was considering newsletter sponsorship as a marketing channel and want to hear from people that are doing that/did that and if they experienced relevant traffic.
We operate in the data privacy sector but it's a niche so looking to hear from other sectors as well.

Paid newsletter ads are one if the most effective channels I've used...with the caveat that audience alignment REALLY matters.

Here's a recap of my most successful campaign and what I learned: https://www.indiehackers.com/post/results-from-running-a-densediscovery-ad-0ba0c70c34

Thanks for sharing! I agree, the audience alignment here is crucial.

You could create your own newsletter with content created and curated about data privacy and build your own audience.

I tried newsletter promotion with Onepagelove and 10words.

Though they had other features apart from the newsletter.

I would say I got some traffic to my website, but not any conversion yet.

I think sending cold email would be nice.

Thanks for the info! Sending cold emails is a bit risky for us as we operate in the data privacy sector so our target audience is highly sensitive (the laws regarding cold outreach differ between countries)

Ahha, now I get it. that's very risky.

Honestly it applies to some industries and niches. It could be useful. My thought, try it out and measure it.

      Will do, thanks!

I tried the traditional marketing channels on FB, IG and others and found it not as productive and effective as I expected. Even when going to markeing agencies I faced the same request for very high budget sponsoring ads. After seeing same results I am now taking the approach of your title... I feel that shooting 360 degrees hoping to get the right ad to the right market is too much for brand that is just starting and counts every cent it spends. I feel that identifying the newsletter (printed or digital) that creates the content for my audinece would be a much more targeted approach and will have better response to the product with realistic feedback whether the product is good on not.

    Good luck with hoggo!!!

I have been in newsletter space and it's a good way to target those niche audience. Start with minimum budget, test the CTRs/traffic and scale as needed.

Thanks! That's currently the plan. I'm on the hunt for relevant newsletter in the privacy sector that doesn't belong to any of my competitors ;) (not easy)
