Do you use analytics?
by
Izaya08
Do you use any kind of analytics on your site? if yes are they really useful?
as someone else said, analytics is integral for every business as you need to understand your acquisition channels, funnels, etc. to get the best out of your marketing, development, and SEO efforts
you can check out hockeystack.com if you are looking for a no-code solution :)
I have used analytics in my projects before but to be really honest, I don't think they provide you with enough value in the very beginning (except you have a great marketing plan).
To answer your latter question, yes, they are helpful when you are getting a lot of customers, signups etc. when you want to figure out acquisition channels, source of traffic etc.
Analytics are great to see things like:
All of which can highlight problems and opportunities for you to optimise for your user's experience. Google Analytics is super powerful and free.
I do find that, whilst analytics shows problems or opportunities, it doesn't tell you what they are. I'm building a little tool that you could try to get these answers - it's free - https://ilikeiwish.co/
Good luck
Yea, use “simple analytics” on all my projects, it doesn’t need cookie popup and respects the users privacy.
I need to know where traffic is coming from, if it’s increasing over time. This helps determine where my customers are, which of my affiliates are successful, if I should do SEO marketing or side project marketing, etc.
Of course! Integrating Google Analytics is the first thing I do when I start a project.

Can I ask you why you prefer to stay away from Google Analytics? (I'm new in this subject, so I don't know the pitfalls of using it)
