After months of hoarding my project and silently working away at it, now it is time to share it with the world but first with my fellow hackers.
Is it obvious what problem I am trying to solve immediately you land on the page?
What do you think of the timer approach? I studied a few projects and decided to give it a go, the bonus is indeed linked to the timers but the timer is not very strict only enforced in the front-end.
Is the USP obvious to you at all?
What do you feel is missing or could help to make the landing page better?
Thank you in advance!
It looks like you provide training to junior developers.
The whole page is very "salesy" - which as a single landing page isn't a bad thing. However first impression when landing was that I had two timers. One at the top, and one fixed at the bottom - it negatively drew me away from reading the content. I think it would be better with only one countdown.
I purposely only read it once so I could come back here with real feedback from a 30 second first impression. I can't remember feeling like there was anything overly unique other than it targeted junior developer growth specifically.
Some of the language wasn't quite right. You spoke about "codes" but it should be "code".
Things I like...
Things I wasn't so sure on...
Great stuff though, good luck with your project! 😎
Oh wow! thank you so much Chris, that is great feedback, yeah the salesy part is something I am really not 100% about even though I designed it :D I know a few people who swear that it works but yet I feel a little weird especially with no background in that side of things.
I will work on the font, get rid of the top timer on mobile device perhaps? on desktop, it is not so much in your face.
USP needs to be highlighted more, perhaps screenshots or video demo of what you get when you signup, visuals of tools within the platform to help focus on learning etc
Much appreciated!
Site is very slow to load. In fact, I couldn't load it the first time. I had to refresh the page to get it to load. Here are my comments:
You have clarified your target audience well - junior developers. One question I would have is does it matter what kind of developers? For e.g. full-stack developers, Java developers, .Net developers, or it doesn't matter?
Are you targeting developers in the US or some other country? While English grammar is correct, I can feel that it's not written by a native English speaker. Am I wrong?
I hate the timers, especially if they are fake. Also it makes the whole page look like a sleazy sales page. But it's possible that you get better conversion with timer, so make sure to A/B test. Also you have the timer at the bottom. You don't need the timer at the top of the page above the title.
At first glance, I can't figure out what exactly are you teaching in the courses? There should be a way to browse the courses that you offer.
The only reason people will buy from you as compared to other courses is if they believe that you are an expert. You need to have more information about yourself and your accomplishments a little on the top, not at the bottom of the page.
Why should I pay you a monthly recurring fee when I can buy a course from Udemy for $10 and I can keep it forever? Your page doesn't answer this question.
Thanks, Neeravbm for the feedback, much appreciated. This will come in very useful with the updates I am making now.
Here is my $0.02:
Thanks, Subro, I appreciate your feedback, I will elaborate more on what students will get, that makes sense.
Hey congrats on the launch. Few points:
Awesome! thank you Derk, I like the idea of making it clear that there is a FREE starter course, I actually have that once you signup, I will bring that to the landing page so it is clearer.
Thanks for the heads up regarding AB testing, that is on my list too.
Thanks a lot!
