First 100 users for your startup is now a course: landing page feedback please

Hey

Olly here from https://board.first100users.com and roastmylandingpage.com.

The first 100 users board has now been viewed over 10,000 times.

As a result, I am working on launching an 8 week paid marketing course for founders. I would love your feedback on the page:

https://course.first100users.com/book

I spend a lot of my day roasting landing pages, so sometimes it's hard to be objective when reviewing my own.

The aim of the landing page is to get people to register for my course.

Questions:

  • Do you think the unique course nature is clear?
  • Can you suggest ideas for images that might be better than the illustration?
  • Do you think the CTA is clear?
  • As a potential customer, do you think the course is good value for money?
  • Anything I may have missed?

    • Do you think the unique course nature is clear? => not quite. Course vs bootcamp - sounds like it's execution driven (which is amazing!) + lots of support from you and from the peers -> so much more than a course // I like the "focus on this 1 thing" idea in the end - could be a way to distinguish your course - if you agitate it + tie it to "you thought building was enough" - what are the consequences of not getting the first 100 (paid) customers in 8 weeks?
    • Can you suggest ideas for images that might be better than the illustration? - I think the illustration is fine, but the course curriculum is taking up a lot of space without explaining why your potential participants should care about any of the items on the list + what they get out of each of them. Will they know enough to figure out why they need all this info?
    • Do you think the CTA is clear? - Yes, but can you reduce the friction and help your potential course participants focus on the outcome they want - in just 2 months, not on the pain of paying you - now?
    • As a potential customer, do you think the course is good value for money? => I'm intrigued by the idea of getting my first 100 paid customers in 2 months, but I'm not sure that this'll work for me, that this is a realistic number, and that you'll be able to help me achieve this goal, especially since I have all the other things on my plate (that said, I'm not your potential customer, but this is what I was thinking of while going through the page)
    • Anything I may have missed? => guarantee is not very prominent, placed in the hero section - not repeated in the closing section, so may be easy to overlook if the page is scanned; success stories or numbers in testimonials; additional "about" info to boost credibility (past clients, results, years of experience)

I think you could do more to establish your credibility. Especially because, at £500, the price is quite steep for a founder who hasn't yet found their first 100 users.

As a potential customer, I'd expect you to tell me more about the products that you've worked on, and how they're relevant to the course you're teaching.

Also, saying "users" doesn't imply paying users. I'd say it could even imply the opposite. The word "users" appears 15 times on the page. Only 1 says "paying users."

    I hope that helps! 😊

@Merott Hey it's very useful thanks. Do you suggest I add more details to my bio section? Companies I've worked with and achievements realised?

      1. 1

Yes, that would be helpful, although…

I should add that I'm probably not in your target audience. £500 is too much for the stage I'm in (no product), no matter how much convincing you do! :)

My first impressions of a 'course' is something like Udemy, but this seems more hands on, with real feedback (skype call?)
I think you can make that more clear.

Its actually something I'd be interested in, but pricing is a bit steep (seeing as I have very few paying users ha. catch22, would it be a fit for pagewatch?)

      Hey

So it's a digital video course. But it's timed to run over 8 weeks. For you, and 9 other founders.

8 week we have a one-hour call with me to work through the course, review tasks, and discuss challenges.

It also includes 1 hour of one-on-one consultancy.

Do you think I could make it more clear @lpellis?

      1. 1

I've added a video and 'what you get' section to make it more clear. Thanks again for your feedback.
