Follow-up: WindowFinesse now has a beta request page (Mac window arrangement)
Earlier I posted looking for Mac beta testers for WindowFinesse and someone suggested putting a proper landing/request page up so people aren’t stuck DMing for the build.

WindowFinesse is a native macOS window arrangement app (not App Store — needs Accessibility). Private beta build 0.10.64 is Developer ID signed + notarized. Looking for people who’ll actually install it, run a ~30 min checklist, and report real bugs — not a feature wishlist.
If you use Rectangle/Magnet/etc and can spare half an hour, request access on the page. Happy to answer questions here too.

The “30 min checklist, not a feature wishlist” framing is refreshingly practical—beta testers are much better at finding broken workflows than inventing roadmap confetti. I’d be curious which macOS Accessibility edge case bites first; every window manager eventually discovers a new way to hide a window 😅

Interesting approach. What was the hardest part to get right?
as I'm sure you know complexity adds problems.. Its an exponential multiplier eg. one feature..but for two monitors as well as 1- ads a whole new test - and that gets multiplied over all the operating systems ..headache..simple is much better - but then is it enough for anyone to want to buy? We ended up getting really bogged down by the new features we added and we though without them it wouldn't be good enough - so we will see how it goes

it was a lot of work..and just getting to the beta was very hard...especially if you don't have a team or lots of friends with the systems you need to test..

The “not a feature wishlist” part is smart. Getting people to test against a specific checklist should give you much more useful feedback than open ended beta testing. Also I am curious whether the biggest issues tend to be app-specific behavior or just macOS accessibility quirks.

the main feature is our smart tidy function - we spent a lot of time developing that feature and I think its a solid tool- plus we have more plans to our V2 for even better and more intuitive window management..we want the tool to increase your productivity
Have beta users actually used Smart Tidy repeatedly in their normal workflow yet, or is the replacement case still based mainly on the feature itself?
fair question — we’re still early on that. for this beta we’re not trying to prove “replace Magnet with Smart Tidy only.” we want people to use the full app for a bit (tidy + the rest of the arrangement tools) and tell us what sticks in real work. if you’re up for that, request form is here: https://windowfinesse.com/#beta

I tried to find an app that could sort the entire desktop in a better way and the price points for that specific feature just didn't make sense to me and the free rectangle didn't have that feature..so I just ran with that..and also as an experiment..But I think its actually a pretty cool app now. will you join the beta and try it? thanks for your input
