🎮 Gaming is Pandemic-proof

It's super fascinating that the #Gaming industry is amongst very few industries to be least affected by the #Covid19 outbreak.

Games like most other software can be built #remotely. At times by just one developer. Not to mention all the open-source/free to start game engines like Unity & UnrealEngine that give you almost the same toolkit that most major(AAA) games are built on. #UnrealEngine5

Video Game industry already makes more money vs Movies & Music industry combined. It's not because there are more people playing games as compared to watching movies. It's due to the innovative revenue models that the gaming industry has introduced over the past decade.

In-app purchases, in-game ads, expansion packs, season pass, limited edition skins/costumes, etc to name a few. Whereas movie industry revenue streams apart from the emergence of OTT platforms have pretty much been the same.

Not just making games but also playing & streaming video games is inherently a digital experience as compared to any other sports participation that it'll flourish in a digital-first world that we have entered.

Video games as a Sport is also an emerging trend wherein future projections show that #eSports is going to be as big as NBA, EPL if not bigger. As of today, eSport tournaments are the only sporting tournaments taking place.

Most games these days also offer multiplayer support that makes it a social hangout experience. Especially now, when the whole world has gone on isolation, multiplayer games allow for social experience with your friends albeit in a virtual world.

Chinese companies realized this trend sometime back and have already deployed huge sums of money acquiring game studios and bringing in a lot of gaming revenue their way.

You could be playing Candy Crush, Clash of Clans, PUBG, Fortnite, League Of Legends, Call of Duty Mobile, or even HouseParty. All of them are wholly or partly owned by a single Chinese entity, Tencent!

We are spending more time playing mobile games and downloading more games than ever before. Every consumer brand out there needs to have a gaming-marketing strategy in place.

This is already happening. Nike is selling AirJordans on Fortnite. Redbull and GoPro sponsor a ton of eSports teams. Starbucks has a virtual popup store on Pokemon Go. Gucci and LV have built their own branded games!

It's a great opportunity for marketing consumer brands and it's going to stay underpriced for a while. Early movers will get the most bang for their marketing buck. It's so underpriced today that most ads you see on mobile games are other mobile games!

It's also a good opportunity to build tech solutions that can tie brands with the gaming ecosystem in a meaningful way.

Tl;dr:
Gaming industry is only getting bigger.
Open source game engines are eliminating barrier to entry.
We are spending more time playing games today than ever before.
Brands who are not marketing within this ecosystem are missing out.

Thats true gaming is one of the least affected industries during pandemic. Many new games launched during this pandemic. Many PC and console gaming houses launched their games mobile versions and many games launched big updates for their games. Clash of clans released many new updates that increase the value of https://cocbases.net/th10-war-base/ and other heroes.

Yes, as the practice of recent months shows, the sphere of games has a huge income compared to the same areas of cinema. If you highlight any one direction from the sphere of games, this is the sphere of gambling. The sphere of gambling in such a direction as online casino brings a lot of income from my observations during the games and study of various online casinos. For a long time I have been researching the Swiss site https://schweizercasinoclub.com/fr/bonus-casino/bienvenue-bonus/ which contains information about different online casinos. Also on this site you can find information about online casino no deposit welcome bonus. I often observe the trends and understand how many online casinos are changing their approach. Probably at each stage may change the rules of the game.

Only just found your post today! I completely agree with everything you mention, and that's why my focus as an IH has been completely on building gaming related products. I hope more people will tap into the gaming industry in the future and build cool stuff, I think there's so much room and potential.

I know, right! Huge opportunity. Checked trofy.io, very interesting! How do you plan to monetize this?

I have a few ideas I might try in the future, but right now I'm building a subscription based "pro" account that gains access to a bunch of extra features

Let me know if you are interested in co-hacking one of the ideas. We could brainstorm and build an app over a weekend and launch it on IH. Drop me a dm @n_zee if you are interested. Thanks and all the very best! :)
